The eight-year vet was the only offensive lineman for the Rams to play in all seventeen games last season; a trademark for Havenstein, who has missed just 13 games over his lengthy NFL career. He's entrenched as the starting right tackle and should provide stability on an offensive line that struggled to stay healthy last season.
Havenstein remains entrenched as the team's primary right tackle, although he'll be lining up with Joe Noteboom as the other starting tackle after Andrew Whitworth's retirement. Havenstein's contract is up after this year, and he'll continue to be one of the primary lines of defense for Matthew Stafford with a young and inexperienced group of tackles behind him.
The second-round selection should get a fair shake at that starting right tackle spot with Joe Barksdale no longer around. With the Rams taking him so high, they're likely expecting him to be their right tackle for a while.
