Rest-of-Season Projections
Signed a two-year contract with the Vikings in March of 2026.
Released by Minnesota
Thomas was released by the Vikings on Sunday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The cornerback saw action on 370 special-teams snaps a year ago, making 19 of his 23 tackles on the third unit, and then signed a two-year, $4.6-million extension in March. Thomas only found himself on the outside looking in during training camp after undrafted rookie safety Jacob Thomas (ankle) played well, convincing the team to place the emphasis on safeties over corners in final cutdowns. Thomas has played on more than 100 special-teams snaps in all eight of his NFL seasons, and he should be able to find another home in the league for the 2026 campaign.

Meeting with Tampa Bay
After visiting the Lions on Friday, Thomas is set to meet with the Buccaneers on Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Thomas spent the last three years with the Texans, and after playing all 17 games in 2021, he played just 19 regular-season games over the following two seasons. Thomas was limited to nine games in 2023 while dealing with separate hand and hamstring injuries and finished the season with 51 tackles and two forced fumbles. He would add veteran depth to the Bucs' secondary alongside corners Jamel Dean and Christian Izien and safety Antoine Winfield.
