Tournament Preview

The BMW International Open returns this year to Golf Club Gut Laerchenhof, a Jack Nicklaus design that is said to reward precision over strength. The parkland course is tree-lined with water on half the holes. This is the fourth time this course has hosted this tournament, with the previous two stops coming in 2016 and 2014. Ball strikers playing well of late will be targeted this week.

DraftKings Picks (with odds)

Tommy Fleetwood, $11,800 - (7/1)

Fleetwood is the clear favorite, and for good reason. He is ranked second in greens in regulation and 9th in SG: off the tee. He will be chalk, but is a great bet to win. I don't have much concern with a hangover from the U.S. Open given how consistent he has been this year both stateside and in Europe. He is the class of the field, so lock him in and go from there.

Andy Sullivan, $10,900 - (16/1)

If you would like a bit more salary wiggle room with the top pick, Sullivan is your guy. He is ranked 8th in SG: off the tee and 32nd in greens in regulation. He has not missed a cut all year and finished T5 in Italy his last time out. Sullivan was T21 last time the tournament was held at GC Gut Laerchenhof in 2016.

Lucas Bjerregaard, $8,800 - (25/1)

Bjerregaard has made four straight cuts and finished as high as T3 in that span. His moment appears to be close. He is ranked 18th on Tour in greens in regulation and is 57th in SG: off the tee. Bjerregaard did miss the cut here in 2016, but was not in good form at that time. His price is very appealing given his odds to win.

Justin Walters, $7,100 - (100/1)

Walters is a standout in the lower price tier. He is putting together a nice season so far and finished T3 two weeks ago at The Shot Clock Masters. Walters is ranked 25th in SG: off the tee and 67th in SG: approach. His missed cut in 2016 doesn't concern me, as he entered that week off five missed cuts in a row. He is well worth a look at this price.
