Tournament Preview

The 2018 Race to Dubai begins this week with the start of the season at UBS Hong Kong Open. The tournament is once again being contested in Fanling at Hong Kong GC, which is a course that rewards accuracy and patience. The tight, tree-lined fairways and firm, fast greens should produce quite a challenge this week for the star-studded field. Course history is bountiful and will be considered strongly.

DraftKings Picks

Justin Rose $11,700 (5/1)

It seems near impossible to not get behind Rose. His recent form has been astonishing with back-to-back wins prior to almost pulling off The Race to Dubai victory last week. He possesses all the skills necessary to succeed here, proving that in 2015 with a victory, and as such, is my favorite pick this week at the top.

Rafael Cabrera-Bello $9,100 (16/1)

Cabrera-Bello appears to be another solid pick at the top and is a good option if you need to save some money. He enters the tournament after a T21 at DP World last week, with his last three rounds being in the 60s. Cabrera-Bello finished second here last year, missing out by one stroke. He is an excellent ball-striker and should be in the hunt once again Sunday.

Wade Ormsby $8,000 (80/1)

Moving further down the price sheet, Ormsby stands out after finishing fifth last time out at Andalucia Valderrama Masters and has the accuracy needed for this week's contest. He is ranked 11th on tour in driving accuracy and 24th in putts per round. Also, Ormsby finished T25 at Hong Kong GC last year and as high as T8 in 2014.

Marcus Fraser $7,500 (66/1)

Fraser is the value pick of the week with a good track record at Hong Kong GC. He's put up top-10s this year after year finishing as high as third in 2012. He was T66 last time out at Turkish Airlines Open, but finished fifth prior to that in Italy. His accuracy has dipped this year a bit off the tee, but he can still consistently rely on his putter, ranking fifth in putts per round on tour. Look for him to outplay his price point.
