Tournament Preview

The European Tour is in England this week for the British Masters supported by Sky Sports. This year it will be contested for the first time at Close House Golf Club. It is a shorter undulating course, consisting of treelined fairways and many bunkers. The fairways are tight in spots and with the plethora of bunkers and three ponds, accuracy will be the key to success this week. A star-studded field is competing at Close House GC, so there are many great options to choose from. Without course history, recent form and good ball-striking will guide the picks, along with the fact that a couple golfers have personal ties to Close House GC.

DraftKings Picks

Alexander Noren $10,400 (12/1)

The defending champion enters this week with continued good form. Noren was T6 in his last start at Omega European Masters. He is hitting over 67 percent of greens in regulation and is ranked second in scrambles on tour. I believe he is a great golfer to start with at the top tier.

Lee Westwood $9,100 (28/1)

Westwood is the tournament host this week, so he definitely has some added distractions, but I think his course knowledge and experience outweigh the distractions. He has shown some great form recently with two top-10s in his last three starts, is an excellent ball striker and is ranked 76th in GIR on tour.

Eddie Pepperell $8,800 (30/1)

The young Englishman has been on a tear lately. He finished T3 last week at Portugal Masters, he was T3 at KLM Open the week prior and T5 before that at Czech Masters. He is ranked 22nd in GIR this season. Pepperell is headed in the right direction, and I see no reason why his recent success won't continue.

Chris Paisley $6,800 (66/1)

Paisley has flashed some nice form recently, finishing T12 at Portugal Masters and T3 at Made in Denmark. He did miss the cut at Omega European Masters between those two, but has some course history coming into Close House. He is a former Tour pro at Close House and his degree of course knowledge should give him an edge this week. At only $6,800, he appears to have great value.
