The Preview

Sandwiched inconveniently between the Open Championship and WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, the RBC Canadian Open's subpar field combines a few top-tier players on short rest with many lesser-known names fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Glen Abbey GC, a standard par-72 layout with four par-fives and four par-threes, will host the event for the third consecutive year. The average winning score at Glen Abbey since 2008 has been 16-under-par, and birdie-or-better percentage will play a key role in the outcome again this year. Ball striking will be key this week, so focus on SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Tee-to-Green when building lineups. The course also features an abundance of bunkers, so SG: Around-the-Green and sand save percentage could also hint at saving additional strokes. A Canadian hasn't won on their home turf at this event since 1954, but the likes of Adam Hadwin, Graham DeLaet, Nick Taylor and Mackenzie Hughes, to name a few, will look to halt that trend in its tracks.

FantasyDraft Value Picks - based on $100,000 salary cap

Cream of the Crop

Charley Hoffman - $16,400

Hoffman is the fourth-highest ranked player in the FedExCup standings without a win this season, sitting behind only Matt Kuchar, Charles Howell and Justin Rose in that category. Hoffman has posted 11 top-25s since the Tournament of Champions in early January, and he's currently 13th on Tour in SG: Off-the-Tee. The 40-year-old also owns five top-30s in seven appearances at the RBC Canadian Open, and will look to make a notch in the win column this weekend.

Tony Finau - $16,200

Finau was unbothered by his late entrance into last week's Open Championship, finishing top-30 for the second year in a row after originally being an alternate for the event. He has made seven consecutive cuts with no finish worse than a T40 during this stretch, reaching 29th in the FedExCup standings. Finau ranks fourth in both SG: OTT and GIR percentage this season, which could lead to an elite birdie-or-better average at Glen Abbey this week.

Chad Campbell - $15,000

Despite being a bit overpriced for a guy ranked 161st in the OWGR, Campbell is riding a stretch of three straight top-18s, and he has also notched four top-26s in his last four starts at the RBC Canadian Open. Throughout his past 12 rounds, he's 13th among the field in SG: Tee-to-Green, 18th in SG: Approach, and even top-50 in both SG: Around-the-Green and SG: Putting.

Glue Guys

Keegan Bradley - $14,800

Bradley has made 6-of-7 seven cuts since THE PLAYERS and notched a pair of top-eights in his last three starts. He's fourth in SG: T2G, third in SG: OTT and 20th in SG: Around-the-Green among the field throughout his past 12 rounds. He's also 21st during that span in proximity from 150-175 yards.

Scott Stallings - $14,600

Back-to-back top-5s have Stallings inside the top-100 of the FedExCup standings, and he has also made four cuts in a row for the first time since April/May of 2016. He's 10th on Tour in proximity to the hole this season and 13th in P4 Efficiency: 400-450 among the field throughout his past eight rounds.

Daniel Summerhays - $14,500

Just one spot outside the top-125 in the FedExCup standings, Summerhays will be eager to secure a spot in the playoffs after making five cuts in a row, including top-17s in two of his last three events. He's ninth in SG: T2G and 14th in SG: Around-the-Green among the field throughout his past 12 rounds, and also ranks first in bogey avoidance.

Ricky Barnes - $13,900

Barnes finished T5-T11 the past two years at Glen Abbey GC, and his recent form includes two top-17s in his last four events. Against the field he's 26th in SG: Total, 12th in SG: Around-the-Green, and 16th in SG: Putting throughout his past 12 rounds.

Hidden Gems

Seamus Power - $12,600

Power has posted consecutive top-25s heading into Canada this week, but the rookie will remain motivated, as he currently sits 15 spots outside of the top-125 in the FedExCup standings. He's 25th on Tour in scrambling and 41st in sand save percentage, which should save him a couple strokes at Glen Abbey. Power is also 20th among the field in terms of SG: Approach throughout his past 12 rounds.

Luke List - $12,600

List can put up points in a hurry no matter where he's located on the leaderboard, given his ability to make birdies and eagles at an elite rate. Despite finishing all the way down in a tie for 68th during his last start at the John Deere Classic, List still notched 130 FantasyDraft points thanks to 19 birdies and a pair of eagles. He will look to continue taking advantage of the par-fives at Glen Abbey.

Shawn Stefani - $12,400

Stefani is 31st among the field in SG: T2G throughout his past 12 rounds, leading to a streak of four made cuts in a row. He's 53rd on Tour in GIR percentage, 61st in par-four scoring average for the season, and is coming off a T11 at the Barbasol Championship.
