AT&T National

Nick Watney's stats for his first 2011 win at the WGC-Cadillac Championship were surpassed by his stats from last week's win at the AT&T National: Driving Distance, Driving Accuracy, GIR, putts-per-GIR and total putts per round.

Driving Distance isn't considered a key stat, but length can have a very useful affect on birdies other than just at par-5s. Watney had 20 birdies last week with 12 (60 percent) coming at par-4s, which is no surprise when Watney's season ranking is seventh in Par-4 birdies and better. This is good information for the par-70 majors, etc.

The par-71 Aronimink course has two par-5s, eight for the 72-hole event, Watney had an eagle and four birdies in those.

Vital to the fantasy owner is a golfer who can "close." Watney's closing bogey-free 4-under 66 last week is in line with his season stats where he is ranked sixth with an average 69.18 strokes for fourth rounds. Note his 72nd hole in his win at the WGC-Cadillac event for another example of closing under pressure.

John Deere Classic

This week at the John Deere, Steve Stricker is aiming for a hat-trick with his third consecutive win here. The field isn't very muscular, but Jason Day, Zach Johnson and others may have a go against Stricker's plan.

Day, in 2009, tied for 15th with a 15-under total. In 2010, he again was tied for 15th at 12-under. Johnson, in 2009, was second at 17-under and tied for 21st at 11-under in 2010.

Check out Sticker's 2010 stats along with runner-up Paul Goydos' score, which included his first-round 59.
