Last Week's Northern Trust Open

Bill Haas rode great putting to victory last weekend at Riviera. Not only did he rank third with 2.25 strokes gained putting, he buried a 45-foot bridie putt on Riviera's fabled 312-yard 10th hole to win a three-man playoff over Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley. The latter duo had huge birdie putts of their own on the 18th hole to force the playoff.

But while Bradley was even better than Haas on the greens (2.38 strokes gained, 1st), Mickelson was inconsistent. He missed three straight putts inside 10 feet on the back nine, including consecutive bogeys at the turn, and made back-to-back three-putt bogeys on No. 14 and No. 15.

El Camaleon Golf Club at the Mayakoba Resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, was designed by Greg Norman, who is in the field this week along with several Champions Tour players.

Johnson Wagner captured last year's tournament in a playoff over Spencer Levin. Wagner hit nearly 80 percent of greens in regulation and putted very well too. Those two elements provided the difference for Wagner as he made only two bogeys for the tournament.
