DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Cory Schneider, NJD vs. MON ($8,000): Montreal enters this contest with a laundry list of injuries, and the Devils have allowed a measly 8.7 high-danger scoring chances per hour at home this season. Schneider has made two starts since returning from a groin injury to prove his health. Look for a strong showing from the veteran netminder with the Canadiens scoring the second fewest goals per game (2.26) in the league on the road.

CENTER

Nathan MacKinnon, COL at CHI ($7,700): With seven tallies and nine helpers through his past seven games, it's beginning to be difficult to fade MacKinnon, and especially when his salary isn't prohibitive to building around him. The Blackhawks have also won just four of their past 16 games and allowed a hefty 3.6 goals and 12.11 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes during the skid.

Paul Stastny, WPG at NYR ($5,600): The Rangers have allowed the second most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (13.12) in the league this season, and they also shipped out talent ahead of the trade deadline. Stastny enters the favorable matchup with two goals, two assists and six shots through his past three contests, and his gig between Patrik Laine and Nikolaj Ehlers is a cushy one.

WING

Patrik Laine, WPG at NYR ($7,000): With a soft matchup, Laine is worth a long look. The sophomore has caught fire with 10 goals, 16 points and 22 shots through his past eight contests, and his salary hasn't caught up to his recent scoring binge.

Nick Bjugstad, FLA at TB ($4,700): Dating back to the beginning of February, Bjugstad has recorded 13 points -- two goals -- through 15 games. He's climbed to the top line alongside Aleksander Barkov and Evgenii Dadonov, and the trio has combined for a rock-solid 4.5 goals per 60 minutes at even strength this season. Tampa Bay has surrendered 27 goals through its past eight contests, too.

Brandon Saad, CHI vs. COL ($4,300): Despite failing to mark the scoresheet while skating with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane atop the depth chart last time out, Saad remains a solid value lean. The 25-year-old winger has just two goals and a 2.8 shooting percentage through his past 25 games, so there's positive scoring regression ahead. The Avs have surrendered 3.49 goals per 60 minutes on the road this season, too.

DEFENSE

Tyson Barrie, COL at CHI ($6,100): As highlighted, this is a soft matchup for the Avalanche, and Barrie has been a strong contributor since returning from a hand injury Jan. 30. The power-play quarterback has recorded four goals, 15 points and 46 shots through 17 games during the stretch, and he also enters this contest with a three-game point streak.

Sami Vatanen, NJD vs. MON ($4,300): It's been a throwback stretch for Vatanen recently, as he's collected 11 points, 28 shots and 12 blocked shots through his past 12 outings. His ice time has skyrocketed to 24:09 per outing (2:27 with the man advantage) during the surge, so he offers a high-floor, high-ceiling combo at a reasonable price.
