SLATE PREVIEW
There are four games on the NHL slate Friday. Washington hosts Columbus, Toronto travels to Buffalo, San Jose is in New Jersey and Winnipeg is home to Calgary. Below, you'll find suggested options for crafting an effective lineup.
GOALIES
Eric Comrie, WPG vs. CAL ($8,200): Comrie is expected to get his second start of the season after Connor Hellebuyck played Thursday versus Seattle. His first outing was 11 days ago when he stopped 33 shots in a 5-2 win against the Islanders. The Flames are the NHL's worst offensive team as they've only scored 12 goals in eight games.
Jake Allen, NJ vs. SJ ($8,400): Allen has taken over as the Devils' top goaltender since Jacob Markstrom suffered a lower-body injury on Oct. 15. He's won three straight while only allowing six goals on 77 shots. Allen will face a tired San Jose squad that beat the Rangers 6-5 in OT on Thursday.
VALUE PLAYS
Zach Benson, BUF vs. TOR ($5,300): Benson saw his three-game scoring streak come to an end Wednesday, though he racked up six assists from his first three outings while participating on Buffalo's first line and power play.
Dmitri Voronkov, CLS vs. WSH ($4,400): Voronkov looks to be a bargain for someone who's already totaled six points from six appearances. He also skates on the Blue Jackets' top trio and man-advantage.
FORWARD LINE STACKS
Devils vs. Sharks
Jack Hughes (C - $8,500), Jesper Bratt (W - $7,000), Ondrej Palat (W - $4,000)
Hughes picked up the hat-trick on Tuesday against the Leafs while Bratt notched three assists. The duo have also combined for 20 points overall. Palat has only registered one assist, but is surrounded by star linemates and will be facing a Sharks side giving up 4.86 goals per game.
Jets vs. Flames
Kyle Connor (W - $7,800), Mark Scheifele (C - $7,600), Gabriel Vilardi (W - $5,500)
This unit has done well, led by Scheifele's seven goals and three assists. Connor is right behind him with nine points while Vilardi has supplied four helpers. Calgary hasn't played well this season while Winnipeg will be on the second half of a back-to-back, yet the hosts should still hold a significant advantage.
DEFENSEMEN
Jakob Chychrun, WSH at CLS ($5,700): Chychrun has potted goals during each of his last two games with three in four. He's also recorded six points while working on the first power play alongside John Carlson.
Denton Mateychuk, CLS vs. WSH ($3,000): Mateychuk found the back of the net on Tuesday for his first of the season. The 21-year-old displayed plenty of offensive firepower in juniors and is worth consideration at this low salary.
