Bryce Mitchell
Thug Nasty

Dominates in UFC 249 victory
May 9, 2020
Mitchell defeated Charles Rosa via unanimous decision (30-25, 30-25, 30-24) at UFC 249 on Saturday in Jacksonville.
It was one of the most dominant mat performances in recent memory. Mitchell clamped on to Rosa just seconds after the opening bell rang and never let go. He was credited with five submission attempts and seven passes. He also landed his only two takedown attempts. Any normal opponent would have tapped out on multiple occasions in this one, but Rosa somehow managed to see the final bell. Mitchell's mat skills are elite and his pace and cardio are exceptional. He's also just 25 years of age. "Thug Nasty" is a legitimate threat to anyone at 145 pounds.

Lined up for UFC 249
April 23, 2020
Mitchell has signed a fight agreement to face Charles Rosa at UFC 249 on May 9 at a yet-to-be-determined location, he disclosed via his personal Instagram account.
This featherweight matchup was originally supposed to happen at UFC Oklahoma City on May 2, but that turned out to be one of many events cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The UFC remains determined to be one of the first sports to return to action, and while the May 9 event doesn't have an official location, it seems most likely to go down in the state of Florida. Should this event go on as planned, Mitchell appears in line to enter as the betting favorite. He's currently listed at roughly (-190) as of Thursday morning.
Pegged for UFC Oklahoma City
March 3, 2020
Mitchell will battle Charles Rosa at UFC Oklahoma City on May 2.
Mitchell has gotten off to a great start in his UFC career, collecting three consecutive victories. Rosa has traded off wins and losses in his six UFC bouts, earning a victory via submission in his last fight. Mitchell carries a one-inch advantage in both height and reach into the bout, which figures to feature a combination of punches and mat work.
Four more UFC fights ahead
December 12, 2019
Mitchell revealed via his personal Twitter account that he has signed a four-fight extension with the UFC.
Mitchell improved to 3-0 with the UFC after securing the second Twister submission in company history Saturday against Matt Sayles. Now 12-0, the UFC will look to lock in the 25-year-old featherweight prospect for the short term to see if the company has a contender on its hands.
Uses Twister to secure win
December 7, 2019
Mitchell defeated Matt Sayles via submission (Twister) at 4:20 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Washington D.C.
It's just the second Twister submission in the history of the UFC, and that will be good enough to earn Mitchell a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. The first Twister came from The Korean Zombie against Leonard Garcia way back in 2011. Mitchell, who turned just 25 years of age this past October, is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the sport's most talented up-and-coming submission specialists. Nine of his 12 career wins have come via tap out. Mitchell's inability to threaten his opposition on the feet -- he doesn't have a single knockout win -- is a major concern moving forward, but his ground game is clearly elite. It will be interesting to watch Mitchell's development moving forward.
