Wins via TKO in Round 1
February 2, 2019
Nurmagomedov defeated Ricardo Ramos via TKO (strikes) at 2:28 of Round 1 on Saturday in Brazil.
Nurmagomedov is now 2-0 in the UFC. In this fight, he threw a spinning back kick to the body effectively on multiple occasions. The second time he landed the kick it visibly hurt Ramos. Nurmagomedov followed that up with a head kick and then rained down punches against the cage. The referee then stopped the fight which gave Ramos his sixth first round finish.
Schedules fight at UFC Fortaleza
December 12, 2018
Nurmagomedov will match up against Ricardo Ramos at UFC Fortaleza in Brazil on Feb. 2, Guilherme Cruz of reports.
Nurmagomedov will be making his second appearance in the promotion after escaping with a split decision victory over Justin Scoggins in Boise, Idaho in July. The 26-year-old will come into this fight with a career record of 12-1 in the MMA, which is identical to his opponent's mark. Ramos has won all three of his fights in the UFC, including a recent win versus Kyung Ho Kang in August.
Gets lucky in UFC debut Saturday against Justin Scoggins
July 14, 2018
Making his UFC debut on Saturday, Nurmagomedov defeated Justin Scoggins via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night in Boise, Idaho.
Nurmagomedov's (no relation to Khabib) UFC debut was thoroughly underwhelming. He displayed a basic striking style and he failed on his first five takedown attempts before scoring one early in Round 3. The fact Said "won" the total strike battle by a count of 80-38 is entirely misleading. Scoggins landed he much harder, more effective punches and Nurmagomedov showed poor striking defense. A win is a win is a win, but Said needs to get his act together his next time out.
To debut against Justin Scoggins at UFC Boise
May 1, 2018
Nurmagomedov will take on Justin Scoggins in a flyweight matchup at UFC Boise on July 14, reports.
Nurmagomedov is 11-1 as a professional, with his only loss coming to current UFC flyweight Magomed Bibulatov, who is 1-1 with the promotion. Nurmagomedov was born in Makhachkala, Russia, but trains with a team in Dagestan that has produced several established and up-and-coming UFC fighters. He's currently riding a five-fight winning streak for World Fighting Championship Akhmat, though four of those bouts have gone to the judges, which isn't necessarily uncommon at this weight class. Though new to the UFC, Nurmagomedov will represent a stiff test for Scoggins, who is making a return from a year-long layoff due to a back injury.
