Drops UFC debut
BantamweightUFC
October 5, 2019
Silva lost to Khalid Taha via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 3:00 of Round 3 at UFC 243 on Saturday in Melbourne, Australia.
ANALYSIS
It was a disappointing setback for the Brazilian in his UFC debut. Making a concerted effort to lean on his wrestling game in his first fight with the company, Silva registered a whopping 11 takedown attempts in 13 minutes of action. He was successful on just two of those attempts and struggled during the striking exchanges between the two men. The 29-year-old will probably get another shot with the company, but there's nothing to see here.

Fight with Taha moved to Melbourne
BantamweightUFC
August 20, 2019
Silva's (11-3-1) scheduled bantamweight fight with Khalid Taha (13-2-0) was moved Tuesday from UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi to UFC 243 in Melbourne on Oct. 6, Farah Hannoun of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The rationale behind the UFC's decision to push the fight back in the schedule isn't known, but it's possible one of the two fighters requested more time to prepare for the bout. Silva will be making his Octagon debut in Melbourne after his last MMA fight came nearly a year earlier, when he was a member of the World Fighting Federation promotion.
Set for UFC 242 clash
BantamweightUFC
May 21, 2019
Sliva is expected to fight Khalid Taha on September 7 in Abu Dhabi for UFC 242, Guilherme Cruz and Shaun Al-Shatti of MMAFighting.com report.
ANALYSIS
This will be the first time Silva will enter the Octagon on a three-match unbeaten streak, that features two wins and a draw. Silva comes into the fight with an 11-3-1 record, and will take on the featherweight fighter Taha. The weight details on the fight have yet to emerge, but UFC 242 could be quite a card, featuring this fight, and lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
