Finally earns first UFC victory
June 20, 2020
Barriault defeated Oskar Piechota via TKO (punches) at 4:50 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
That effort should be good enough to save Barriault's job. He and Piechota had combined to drop six fights in a row (three each), but it was the Canadian who emerged victorious here. Barriault's defense is questionable, but his power is legitimate. Piechota is unable to properly defend himself and that was a serious issue against an opponent in Barriault who goes head-hunting on every shot he throws. The 30-year-old Quebec native needs to prove he is more than just a knockout artist, but this performance should ensure his next fight is with the UFC.
Bout location moved
May 25, 2020
Barriault will take on Oskar Piechota in a middleweight matchup at a yet-to-be-determined location June 20, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Barriault is winless in three trips to the cage under the UFC banner, but draws an opponent in Piechota who also happens to be 0-3 in his last three bouts. All three of Barriault's fights have gone to the judges, making him difficult to trust from a fantasy standpoint, even if four of Piechota's five fights were ended via stoppage. Physically, the two match up within two inches in both height and reach. Barriault has the edge in striking volume, be he gets hit significantly more in order to achieve that. Neither have much of an offensive wrestling dimension, or at least they haven't used it in their time with the UFC.

Drops third straight in Busan
December 22, 2019
Barriault lost to Jun Yong Park via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC on ESPN+ 23 on Saturday in Busan, South Korea.
Barriault had flashes of success in the striking department, particularly to the legs, but ended up falling short in the final totals in each of the three rounds. He saw the most success in the final frame and perhaps appeared to be the fresher fighter in the closing moments, but it was ultimately too little, too late. His future with the company is uncertain after three consecutive losses all within the calendar year.
Will fight in South Korea
September 27, 2019
Barriault will face Jun Yong Park at UFC Fight Night on Dec. 21 in South Korea, Aaron Bronsteter of reports.
The Canadian has a couple things working against him already. First being that he's lost his past two fights, and second that he'll be fighting far from home on Park's home turf. Nevertheless, Barriault will be eager to win his first fight under the UFC banner after joining the promotion with a record of 11-1.
