Opens UFC 321 with upset win
Inoue defeated Jaqueline Amorim via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC 321 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Fighting for the first time since September 2023 and the second time since August 2020, Mizuki put forth a stellar effort to pull the upset. The +380 underdog remained aggressive on the feet throughout, completely controlling Amorim in the stand-up. She also landed both her takedown attempts and racked up 7:28 worth of control time in the excellent effort. Inoue is still just 31 years old despite the fact we've barely seen her inside the octagon in recent years, so she should have some gas left in the tank assuming she can get back in there in a reasonable time frame this time around.

She doesn't have a single knockout victory in her career despite being a professional for nearly a decade. Inoue is tough as nails, a threat on the mat and has plenty of experience against quality competition, but her long-term ceiling is severely limited due to her striking deficiencies.
