Facing Javid Basharat
December 3, 2021
Jones will take on Javid Basharat on March 12, reports.
Jones was previously expected to face Raoni Barcelos on Dec. 18 but withdrew in November for undisclosed reasons. He'll be ready to go nearly three minutes later and will be looking to bounce back from his defeat against Saidyokub Kakhramonov in August. In Basharat, he'll face an opponent making his UFC after winning his first 11 professional fights, none of which required the full three rounds.

Out of Barcelos fight
November 11, 2021
Jones has withdrawn from his Dec. 18 bout against Ranoni Barcelos, reports.
The reason for Jones' withdraw is unclear. The UFC is working to find a replacement for Barcelos. Jones had fought twice already in 2021, defeating Mario Bautista in March and then being submitted Saidyokub Kakhramonov in August.
Barcelos fight on tap
October 21, 2021
Jones is expected to take on Raoni Barcelos in a bantamweight bout at the UFC event Dec. 18, reports.
Both fighters are coming off their first loss with the UFC, with Jones falling to Saidyokub Kakhramonov in August and Barcelos falling to Timur Valiev in June. Jones holds a career 13-7 record, while Barcelos sits at 16-2.
Choked out late in Vegas
August 21, 2021
Jones lost to Saidyokub Kakhramonov via technical submission (guillotine choke) at 4:39 of Round 3 at UFC on ESPN 29 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
It's a crushing defeat for Jones in a fight in which he appeared to be just seconds away from winning via decision. The first round was the closest of the three, with both men having their moments. Jones appeared to win Round 2 on the strength of a takedown and 2:44 worth of control time, but he went for a single-leg attempt late in the fight, and Kakhramonov grabbed his exposed neck and took full advantage. Jones was choked out cold before referee Herb Dean stepped in and called off the proceedings. This was a competent performance from Jones despite the end result. The 31-year-old has fought three times since his UFC debut 366 days ago and should be back in the Octagon in fairly short order.
Another opponent swap
August 17, 2021
Jones will now be taking on Saidyokub Kakhramonov in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Vegas 34 on Saturday, MMA Island reports (via Marcel Dorff of MMADNA).
Jones has had a wild time trying to figure out an opponent to follow up his big knockout victory over Mario Bautista in March. He's seen his date pushed back multiple times, with fights against Tony Kelley, Aaron Phillips, Ronnie Lawrence, Jesse Strader and now Martinez all fall through within the last few months. He's now expected to take on a CFFC champion in Kakhramonov with just four days to scout the opponent. The 25-year-old Kakhramonov is 8-2 as a professional with six of those eight wins by way of stoppage.
Filling at in UFC Vegas 34
August 12, 2021
Jones will take on Mana Martinez in a bantamweight bout at the UFC event Aug. 21, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Jones will take the place of Jesse Strader, who was forced to withdraw due to an undisclosed reason. Jones was supposed to fight back in late July, but his opponent had to withdraw. He last was in the Octagon back in March when he defeated Mario Bautista by TKO.
