Not fighting Johns
Barcelos will not fight Miles Johns on Saturday, according to Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca.
ANALYSIS
Initially expected to fight Johns at UFC on ESPN 47, an undisclosed injury will prevent the latter's availability Saturday. Because the withdrawal is happening a mere two days before the fight, it is scrapped altogether. That is especially unfortunate for Barcelos, who was healthy heading into what would have been his seventh UFC fight.

First career knockout loss
Barcelos lost to Umar Nurmagomedov via KO (punch) at 4:40 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's the first knockout loss of Barcelos' professional career. The Brazilian struggled to make any headway in a first round spent entirely on the feet. He was seemingly getting off second in all the striking exchanges between the two men before a body kick followed by a crushing left hand late in the frame knocked Raoni out cold. Nurmagomedov is viewed by many as a potential future UFC champion, so there's absolutely no shame in losing to him. At 35 years of age, however, Barcelos' 1-3 mark in his past four fights dating back to June 2021 simply isn't going to get the job done.

Umar Nurmagomedov up next
