Guram Kutateladze

Notches debut win as big underdog
October 17, 2020
Kutateladze defeated Mateusz Gamrot via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
Gamrot will always be the more technical striker of the two, but Kutateladze showed what pressure and power can do in this bout, not allowing Gamrot to look for his shots or ease into his game. The interesting thing about Kutateladze here was his defensive BJJ game, as he would employ a rubber guard and fire elbows to disrupt the progress of Gamrot before getting back to his feet. Oddsmakers had Kutateladze as low as a 3-to-1 underdog heading into this fight, but he more than showed that he will be a fun, dangerous fighter in the organization going forward. Kutateladze improves to 12-2 in professional MMA as a result of the win.
