Foul leads to no contest
WelterweightUFC
March 16, 2024
Battle and Ange Loosa fought to a no contest (accidental eye poke) at 1:00 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Battle was visibly upset after the bout was called and rightfully so. He was dominating from start to finish, well on his way to improving his record to 6-1 in his first seven UFC bouts, at which point he clipped Loosa in the eye. Ange didn't take anywhere near the full five minutes, quickly telling the doctor he couldn't see, and that was all she wrote. Battle lost his mind on Loosa after the decision was announced, and the two had to be separated. Re-booking this fight in the not-too-distant future makes all the sense in the world.

Strong run continues

Battle defeated AJ Fletcher via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:32 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was another excellent performance for Battle inside the Octagon, and he also made weight without issue, a positive sign following his miss in his 14-second knockout win over Gabriel Green this past May. Battle was content to sit back in Round 1 and let the much smaller Fletcher lead the way, but he got aggressive in Round 2, picked up a takedown and went work on the mat, eventually choking Fletcher out late in the frame. The 29-year-old North Carolina native is off to a great start in the UFC, posting a 5-1 record in his first six bouts.

Battle will fight AJ Fletcher at UFC Vegas 79 on Sept. 23, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
After missing weight for his catchweight fight at UFC on ABC 4, Battle will move down a division. Fletcher began his promotional career 0-2 but bounced back by submitting Themba Gorimbo in February.
Dominates after weight miss
WelterweightUFC
May 13, 2023
Battle defeated Gabriel Green via KO (punch) at 0:14 of Round 1 at UFC on ABC 4 on Saturday in Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Competing in his hometown of Charlotte, Battle was quite proud of his performance, as he should have been, except for the fact all the good work he did inside the Octagon was negated by the fact he missed weight by two pounds on Friday morning. The crushing right hand which put Green to sleep was a thing of beauty, but none of it will matter unless Battle gets his weight cutting issues under control moving forward. Bryan would normally be ineligible for a post-fight bonus due to the weight miss, but Dana White ultimately made an exception and rewarded him with a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus anyway.
Misses weight, fight still on
WelterweightUFC
May 12, 2023
Battle weighed in two pounds over the welterweight limit for his fight against Gabriel Green on Saturday, but the fight will proceed at a catchweight, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Battle tipped the scales at 173 pounds Friday morning, two pounds over the limit for a non-title fight. The approximate (+110) betting underdog presumably had to turn over a portion of his fight purse to Green in order for this bout to ultimately proceed.
