Morono next WW opponent
Buckley will compete against Alex Morono in a welterweight fight at UFC Vegas 80 on Oct. 7, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Buckley will stay at welterweight and compete against an individual 5-1 across his last six fights. The former got back into winning ways by knocking out Andre Fialho at UFC Vegas 73. Ideally for Buckley, this positive momentum will continue in October.

Stars in return to welterweight
Buckley defeated Andre Fialho via KO (head kick) at 4:15 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
A long time middleweight, Buckley looked excellent in his first fight at welterweight since September 2019. He apparently had no problems cutting down to 170 pounds and appeared healthy on fight night. Buckley was getting the better of a back-and-forth striking battle before taking it out of the judges hands with a massive head kick which floored Fialho and closed the show. Michael Bisping commented on the ESPN broadcast that it's clear welterweight is the division in which Buckley belongs, and he couldn't be more correct. Extremely strong with legitimate power and decent wrestling skills, Joaquin is a fighter to keep an eye on in his new digs.

Will fight at UFC Vegas 73
Buckley will take on Andre Fialho at UFC Vegas 73 on May 20, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Buckely holds a 5-4 record with the UFC since debuting with the company in October of 2020. Heading into this bout, the 28-year-old is looking to bounce back from a two-fight losing streak. His opponent, Fialho, is looking to do the same.

Finished by Chris Curtis
Buckley lost to Chris Curtis via KO (punches) at 2:49 of Round 2 at UFC 282 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Buckley has been on a nice run of late, but he's traditionally struggled against better competition over the course of his career, and that continued in this fight. He likely had the better of a close opening frame, but Buckley got caught by Curtis following a wild head kick attempt which completely turned the tide of the fight. He was never able to fully recover, and referee Jason Herzog was stepping in shortly thereafter. The 28-year-old St. Louis native has now lost back-to-back fights (Curtis, Nassourdine Imavov) and will find himself in a must-win situation his next time out.

Paired with Chris Curtis
Buckley will square up against Chris Curtis in a middleweight matchup at UFC 282 on Dec. 10, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Both fighters are coming off of unanimous decision defeats. For Buckley, his loss to Nassourdine Imavov in early September dropped his UFC record to 5-3. For Curtis, his July loss to Jack Hermansson marked his first setback in four UFC fights.
