Vannata will no longer fight Andre Fili at the UFC event on Sept. 17 due to an undisclosed injury, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The nature of Vannata's injury remains unclear, but nevertheless, he won't be able to take on Fili in September in what would have been his second fight of 2022. Vannata lost to Charles Jourdain via submission in April and will now have to wait a bit longer before he attempts to get back in the win column.

Taking on Andre Fili
FeatherweightUFC
Out
June 14, 2022
Vannata is set to take on Andre Fili at a UFC event on Sept. 17, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Vannata holds a 12-6-2 record in the Featherweight division of the UFC, but he is coming off a Round 1 submission to Charles Jourdain. The 30-year-old will look to bounce back from his loss in April when he takes on Fili.
Quickly taps to Charles Jourdain

Vannata lost to Charles Jourdain via submission (guillotine choke) at 2:32 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's just the second submission defeat of Vannata's career and his first since his UFC debut against Tony Ferguson back in July 2016. Lando use his wrestling game to take control of the fight in the early going, but he was knocked down by Jourdain not long thereafter and proceeded to give up his neck in the process. It appeared at first as if Vannata would be able to survive, but Jourdain adjusted his body position and closed the show. Lando has considerably more talent than his now 4-6-2 record with the UFC would lead you to believe, but he seems highly unlikely to go on any sort of run moving forward considering he has yet to win two consecutive fights with the company.
Set to fight Jourdain

Vannata will face Charles Jourdain in a featherweight bout at UFC's April 23 event, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Lando hasn't been in the Octagon since May when he defeated Mike Grundy via split decision, as his matchup with Tucker Lutz in November fell through. Jourdain is coming off a victory over Andre Ewell in December, which led to a new four-fight contract to remain in the UFC a few weeks later.

Vannata will no longer be taking on Tucker Lutz at UFC Fight Night 197 on Nov. 13, MMAJunkie.USAToday.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Vannata was originally booked to take on Lutz, but the latter is now expected to be moved to a fight a week later against a new opponent. There has been no official word on why the fight has been changed or if Vannata will be getting a new opponent.
Lined up to face Lutz
FeatherweightUFC
Out
August 25, 2021
Vannata is lined up for a matchup against Tucker Lutz at the UFC event scheduled for Nov. 13, Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The match will presumably be contested at featherweight, as Vannata dropped down from lightweight in March to pick up a victory over Mike Grundy in the 145-pound division. While Vannata's UFC results have been a mixed bag, he always brings intensity and high-volume striking to the cage. His opponent, Tucker, is a high-volume striker as well that picked up two unanimous decisions on Dana White's Contender Series before winning his official UFC debut against Kevin Aguilar in May. Vannata is listed as an inch taller, but he'll give up an inch in reach to Lutz.
