Parker Porter

Removed from UFC roster
December 22, 2023
Porter was released from the UFC Thursday, UFC Roster Tracker reports.
Porter's tenure with the UFC has officially come to a close. His last fight was a knockout loss to Junior Tafa at UFC Singapore on Aug. 26 before he later tested positive for testosterone, per the U.S. Anti-Doping agency. The positive test is what likely led to his release though no reports have officially confirmed that. At 38-year-old, it's likely Porter gets picked up by another promotion to continue his fighting career.

Struggles with Tafa family continue
August 26, 2023
Porter lost to Junior Tafa via KO (punch) at 1:24 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
Porter now has the honor of being knocked out by both Tafa brothers in a span of just over six months. Justin got him in 66 seconds this past February. Porter responded with a first-round knockout win over Braxton Smith in May before Junior finished him in 84 seconds here. Your typical brawling heavyweight with some power and questionable durability, it's difficult to believe that Porter, at age 38, is somehow 4-3 in his past seven bouts dating back to November 2020. That said, he has lost three of his past four.
Fighting Tafa in Augst
July 14, 2023
Porter will fight Junior Tafa at UFC Singapore on August 26, Marcel Dorff of reports.
Porter is coming off a knockout victory over Braxton Smith back in early May and will enter the Octagon against an opponent with a similar fighting style as himself. Both fighters possess a powerful strike, and this could be a bout that finishes in the first round if either can land a clean punch on the other.
Snaps brief losing streak
May 6, 2023
Porter defeated Braxton Smith via TKO (punches) at 2:10 of Round 1 at UFC 288 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.
Fresh off back-to-back first-round stoppage losses and likely fighting for his job against a debuting opponent, Porter displayed excellent fight IQ in getting past Smith. He essentially allowed Braxton to empty the gas tank in the opening minute-plus of the bout and took control from there. Parker dropped Smith with a knee to the body, and his exhausted opponent had no means of recovery. Your typical one-dimensional, hard-hitting heavyweight, Porter improves to 4-3 in the UFC, which isn't all that bad when you take into account the fact Parker has virtually no means of generating any sort of secondary offense.
Set to face Braxton Smith
April 12, 2023
Porter will fight Braxton Smith in a heavyweight bout at a UFC Event on May 6 in Newark, New Jersey, per Marcel Dorff of
Porter will look to snap his two-fight loosing streak against Smith at UFC 288. Porter fought in early February, but lost to Justin Tafa via KO in the first round. He'll look for a better showing against Smith, who has won five straight contests.
Lasts 66 seconds at UFC 284
February 11, 2023
Porter lost to Justin Tafa via KO (punch) at 1:06 of Round 1 at UFC 284 on Saturday in Perth, Australia.
You can't compete in this sport with durability issues, especially at heavyweight, as Porter found out first-hand in this fight. After a minute-plus in which neither man accomplished much, Porter ate one short left hand from Tafa which finished him on the spot. It's a crushing result in what was a pick 'em bout. Set to turn 38 years of age in April, Porter is now 3-3 in his first half-dozen UFC bouts. Of course, all three wins came via unanimous decision against lesser competition (Alan Baudot, Chase Sherman, Josh Parisian), while the losses (Tafa, Jailton Almeida, Chris Daukaus) all came via stoppage.
