Not competitive in Vegas loss
Mudaerji lost to Tim Elliott via technical submission (arm-triangle choke) at 4:02 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Fighting for the first time since July 2022, Su looked fine in the early moments when this fight was on the feet, but once Elliott got him to the mat, he was done. In Mudaerji's defense, he was facing an opponent that accepted this fight less than a week ago and entered with a massive edge in the grappling department. This was always the likely result as soon as he found himself on the ground. Su will be just 28 years of age next January, but he's fought just six times since making his company debut in November 2018 (3-3) and is without a victory dating back to January 2021. His roster spot is in question.

UFC China was canceled, becoming UFC Vegas 83 instead. On top of that, Allan Nascimento withdrew from fighting Mudaerji due to an undisclosed problem. With four days' notice, he will fight Elliott at a higher weight class to make it a little easier for both competitors.

Drops back-and-forth brawl
Mudaerji lost to Matt Schnell via submission (triangle choke) at 4:24 of Round 2 at UFC on ABC 3 on Saturday on Long Island.
ANALYSIS
It's impossible to put into words what happened in this fight, although the bottom line is Mudaerji suffered a setback he simply could not afford as a -260 favorite. Mudaerji did just fine whenever the two men were standing at distance. He appeared to have this fight won early in Round 2 after crushing a standing Schnell with a pair of massive elbows, but Schnell connected with a shot of his own which led to Su giving up a shockingly easy takedown, which eventually led to the end of the fight. Mudaerji is massive for the flyweight division at 5-foot-8 and uses his size well, but there is a clear hole in his game in terms of his submission defense, as all four of his career losses have come via that method. Of course, in this fight, you could simply argue the bout ended because he was so beat up and tired after a back-and-forth war. The defeat snaps a three-fight winning streak for Su. On the bright side, he'll take home a $50,000 bonus after this bout was awarded Fight of the Night honors.

Schnell up next
Mudaerji will fight Matt Schnell in a flyweight fight at UFC Long Island on July 16, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Both fighters stand at 5-foot-8, though Mudaerji sports a two-inch reach advantage over Schnell. Neither fighter has been victorious in the Octagon since January of 2021. Mudaerji will likely look to take Schnell to the ground, due to Mudaerji's 100% takedown accuracy and Schnell's 50% takedown defense.
