Dream11 Fantasy Soccer: Everton v. Liverpool Preview

This article is part of our Dream11 Fantasy Soccer series.

Game Preview

Liverpool and Everton couldn't have wished for better opponents ahead of their respective restarts of the 2019-20 Premier League, as both teams will collide in a new edition of the Merseyside Derby. The Reds are just six points away from winning the league title and victory here would put them even closer to end their 30-year title drought. Meanwhile, Everton still have something to play for and remain hopeful of fighting for a 2020-21 UEFA Europa League spot next season in the final weeks of the campaign. The previous matches between both clubs have not been very open, though, with four of the last five meetings ending with under 2.5 goals. The previous meeting this season, however, saw Liverpool win 5-2. Needless to say, The Reds are undisputed favorites ahead of his behind-closed-doors derby.

Recent Form

Everton: W2, D1, L2

Liverpool: W4, L1

Top Picks

Sadio Mane, Liverpool: Mane gets a bump in his upside due to his role as a midfielder and not a forward, and he has been one of Liverpool's most consistent players. His pace can create havoc in opposing defenses, and he is likely to pose a huge threat to an Everton unit that will lack a strong, commanding presence such as Yerry Mina. He was excellent against Everton earlier this season, notching one goal and two assists in a 5-2 win at Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool: The England right-back is believed to be the world's best at his position and is a huge threat moving forward. Aside from this game potentially being a low-scoring affair, which could boost his clean-sheet chances, TAA is a regular threat to deliver an assist or accumulate stats through shots or defensive categories. He is one of the most productive defenders in the world.

Captain and Vice-Captain Options

  1. Sadio Mane
  2. Trent Alexander-Arnold
