Liverpool's Mohamed Salah was the most dominant fantasy Premier League player ever last season, and there's little reason to think he won't be one of the top scorers again this year.

Mohamed Salah dominated the Premier League last season, enough so that his 303 fantasy points became the highest total ever recorded in the game. Thirty-two goals and 12 assists paved the way to his massive total, and while those levels will be very hard to reach again, Salah is still comfortably the top player at the midfield position for the 2018/19 season.

We don't traditionally have prolific goal scorers among midfielders in fantasy Premier League, but Salah isn't the only one who can reach the 15-goal threshold. That being said, we can't look away from players who create a lot of chances because they're usually near the top of the assist list.

One of the biggest issues last season was trying to nail down the right Manchester City midfielder(s), though you almost couldn't go wrong, as Raheem Sterling (second-most fantasy points), Kevin De Bruyne (third), Leroy Sane (sixth) and David Silva (10th) all finished in the top-10 in scoring. Even Bernardo Silva cracked the top-30, and he only started 15 matches. Unfortunately, that messy situation will look easy compared to this season after Manchester City signed Riyad Mahrez, whose 195 fantasy points were the fifth-most among midfielders last term. Figuring out that rotation could be a nightmare, though it's worth remembering that even with all the uncertainty, pretty much everyone turned out to be a great fantasy producer.

The playing time questions are hardly specific to Man City, with Liverpool also having a number of options after Salah, such as Sadio Mane, Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri, James Milner, Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson all competing for playing time, not to mention Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain if he can return from his knee injury before the end of the season. There are some obvious leaders for those spots, but manager Jurgen Klopp could really wreck havoc on fantasy teams this season because of his rotational options.
