FPL Gameweek 6: Should You Triple Captain Haaland?
Few FPL decisions cause more debate than when to use the Triple Captain chip, and Gameweek 6 puts Erling Haaland front and center. In blistering form with six goals already, Haaland faces Burnley at home in what looks like the dream fixture.
Many FPL managers are tempted to triple captain him now, but is GW6 really the right time? Let's weigh the pros and cons before making the call.

Why Haaland Is the Perfect Triple Captain Option in GW6
Haaland has started the season with six goals, comfortably outscoring every other player in the league. His expected goals tally of 6.2 shows that he's not overperforming, either, which isn't too surprising given his situation.
He's simply getting more and better chances than anyone else. Manchester City are creating a huge volume of opportunities for him, with only a handful of entire teams generating more big chances than Haaland has received individually.
The matchup makes the appeal even stronger. Burnley's defence has been the worst in the league with an xGC of over 10 and the highest number of shots conceded inside the box. City have better than an 80-percent chance to win according to the odds and Haaland's implied scoring percentage is above 70.
On paper, this is exactly the type of game where Haaland can explode. With captaincy already guaranteed, the Triple Captain chip would amplify those returns.
The Risks of Playing the Triple Captain Chip Now
Despite the appeal, there are arguments against pulling the trigger. Haaland left the pitch early last weekend with minor fitness concerns, and City have a busy schedule around this fixture. If his minutes are managed, the ceiling lowers considerably.
There is also the question of opportunity cost. The Triple Captain is a one-off gain, while other chips such as the Wildcard or Free Hit can have a much larger and lasting impact. Saving the chip for a potential Double Gameweek later in the season, or for Salah's standout fixtures before AFCON (particularly the home fixture at home to Sunderland in Gameweek 14), could deliver a bigger return.
Verdict: Is Haaland Worth the Triple Captain in Gameweek 6?
Haaland at home to Burnley is about as good a single fixture as you will get in the league this season, and many managers will feel justified in striking now.
If Haaland is confirmed fully fit and your squad is in reasonable shape, then playing the Triple Captain makes complete sense.
However, if your team is weak and in need of a reset, prioritising more powerful chips such as the Wildcard or Free Hit could be a smarter long-term move.
