FPL GW4 Free Hit team revealed: Mohamed Salah captaincy, Viktor Gyokeres up front, and a Crystal Palace double-up in defense leads way for this team.
FPL Tips: Best GW4 Free Hit Team

Best GW4 Free Hit Team

Free Hit can be one of the most powerful chips in Fantasy Premier League if used at the right time. It allows managers to construct a one-week squad only with fixtures in mind, without worrying about long-term planning.

Building a one-week squad purely for upside means targeting explosive captaincy options like Mohamed Salah, premium strikers such as Viktor Gyokeres, and differentials like Jean-Philippe Mateta.

With Gameweek 4 presenting standout matchups for Arsenal, Liverpool and Crystal Palace, this is how I would line up on a Free Hit.

Check out our updated FPL rankings, FPL tips and cheat sheets to fine-tune your squad.

David Raya (Arsenal, £5.5m): Top GW4 Free Hit Goalkeeper vs Nottingham Forest

Arsenal's defensive structure continues to be one of the best in the league. At home to Nottingham Forest, the clean sheet probability is high, making Raya a strong goalkeeper pick for the week.

Maxence Lacroix (Crystal Palace, £5.0m): Clean Sheet Potential vs Sunderland

Crystal Palace have looked well organised at the back, keeping four clean sheets in their last five matches, UEFA play included. Sunderland at home is another fixture that promises returns. Lacroix is excellent for defensive contribution points and offers strong value in what's expected to be a low-scoring match.

Daniel Munoz (Crystal Palace, £5.5m): Attacking Full-Back Differential

A double-up on the Palace defence feels justified, especially if Munoz can be in full attack mode at home against Sunderland. His attacking upside is evident, ranking only behind Trent Alexander-Arnold for xGi among defenders last season.

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool, £6.0m): Reliable Defensive and Set-Piece Threat

Liverpool's leader at the back remains the most secure route into their defence. Away to Burnley may not be a lock for a clean sheet, but it's their best matchup of the early season, and he carries both clean sheet potential and set-piece threat.

Gabriel (Arsenal, £6.1m): Strong GW4 Clean Sheet and Goal Threat

An Arsenal defensive double-up makes sense as well with Forest visiting on the back of hiring Ange Postecoglou. Gabriel adds further upside as a danger from corners and free kicks.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, £14.5m): Best FPL GW4 Captaincy Pick

Salah remains the standout captaincy pick and unsurprisingly has the best odds on the slate to score or assist. Despite a quiet start, Salah has the perfect fixture to deliver and return to his 2024/25 form. Burnley are likely to struggle against his movement and finishing.

Cody Gakpo (Liverpool, £7.7m): Underrated GW4 Differential Midfielder

Gakpo looks nailed in Slot's system and already has three attacking returns in three games. With Liverpool's attack firing, he is an under-utilized gem.

Joshua King (Fulham, £4.5m): Cheap Midfield Enabler vs Leeds

King is the clear standout £4.5m midfield enabler, having started the first three matches for Fulham. Playing centrally as the No. 1 for Fulham, King has shown promise and looks secure to start. At home to Leeds, he's excellent value.

Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth, £7.4m): In-Form Attacking Differential

Pacey and direct, Semenyo has been in excellent form with two goals and one assist on 10 shots and five chances created through three matches. A home fixture against Brighton adds to his appeal, and his underlying numbers are strong.

Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace, £7.5m): Penalty Potential & GW4 Differential

While the players around him leave or get injured, Mateta remains at Crystal Palace. He's a lock for regular minutes and could even be on penalties. His aerial threat makes him a prime differential, and Sunderland at home is ideal.

Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal, £9.0m): Must-Have Free Hit Forward vs Nottingham Forest

Leading the Arsenal line, on penalties, and seemingly guaranteed for 90 minutes, Gyokeres is hard to pass up. His goal odds are similar to those of Salah, both with better than a 50-percent chance to score. With Forest at home, Gyökeres is the perfect Free Hit forward.
