Best Free Hit Team for FPL Gameweek 7: The Optimal XI Revealed

The Free Hit chip in Fantasy Premier League is all about chasing upside, and Gameweek 7 offers plenty of it

Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa all have favourable fixtures, while there are several enticing differential punts that can separate Free Hit managers from the pack. Here's a well-balanced XI built for maximum upside this week.

Check out our updated FPL rankings, FPL tips and cheat sheets to fine-tune your squad.

GOALKEEPER

David Raya : Arsenal Goalkeeper Pick

Arsenal top the clean sheet odds for the Gameweek 7 and have conceded the fewest goals in the league. Fresh off some rotation Wednesday in Champions League, don't expect a drop off for the Gunners against West Ham.

With form, fixtures, and defensive numbers all aligning, Raya is the standout goalkeeper choice.

DEFENDERS

Gabriel : Arsenal Set-Piece Threat

Doubling up on Arsenal's backline makes sense, and Gabriel stands out with both nailed minutes and being a continual set-piece threat. West Ham have conceded the most goals from set plays, and seem to allow at least one in almost every game, this looks like an ideal matchup.

Marcos Senesi : DEFCON Monster

The Bournemouth defender has been a defensive contributions monster, hitting the threshold in all six matches this season. Opponent hasn't mattered, as Bournemouth's style of play allows Senesi to rack up relevant numbers no matter how the game goes. He provides a reliable four-point floor, even before clean sheet potential.

Matty Cash : Villa Defender In Great Spot

Villa have the second-best clean sheet odds in Gameweek 7, and Cash offers potential at both ends. Villa have seemingly turned a corner and Cash is basically a lock every match since they don't have a backup at right-back who Unai Emery trusts. With attacking involvement and strong defensive backing, he is the pick of Villa's defence.

BEST MIDFIELDERS FREE HIT GW7

Bruno Fernandes : Great GW7 Target

If Bruno had converted both penalties this season, he would rank among the top scorers in FPL. Turn those into misses and many are suggesting he's not worth the price given his deeper role in Manchester United's midfield.

However, on penalties, set pieces, and playing every minute, he remains a premium with multiple routes to points.

Matheus Cunha : Sneaky Man Utd Midfielder

Cunha can be a bold but calculated Free Hit punt. Doubling on United's attack is a move few will make given this season's struggles, but against a promoted side at home, the upside is worth the gamble. Sunderland have played well but are still allowing plenty of chances, especially away from home.

Phil Foden : GW7 Bounce Back

On less than six percent of teams, Foden is a perfect differential despite a disappointing Gameweek 6. City have a favourable fixture against Brentford and Foden's ceiling is extremely high when he delivers, especially with a likely role on set pieces.

Antoine Semenyo : Popular Bournemouth Midfielder

Sitting just behind Haaland for FPL points, Semenyo combines form, 90-minute security and potential penalty duties with an attractive fixture. Even in difficult spots, he's produced this season, banging home a free kick in last week's draw at Leeds.

Tijjani Reijnders : Cheap Man City Piece

Reijnders is a cheap and effective way to cover City's attack. While his numbers don't jump off the page, he's still managed one goal and two assists from 12 shots and six chances created. Having gone 90 minutes in five of six matches, it's hard to argue his value in midfield.

FORWARDS

Erling Haaland : Can't Fade City Forward

Haaland is the top FPL points scorer and captaincy favourite. He's producing in every game and a match against Brentford shouldn't change that. His form makes him an automatic pick.

Viktor Gyokeres : GW7 Smash Forward

Arsenal's striker and probable penalty taker, Gyokeres is primed to exploit West Ham's vulnerabilities in a favourable home fixture. He's played well in recent contests even if the goals haven't come, but once they do, you'll want a piece of the pie in the best matchup on the slate.
