PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

GOALKEEPER

Kasper Schmeichel, LEI v. LIV ($5,500): Schmeichel wasn't involved in Tuesday's 2-0 League Cup triumph over Liverpool, but he should return to the lineup for Saturday's rematch. Liverpool lead the league in shots on goal (40), and being road favorites we can expect Schmeichel to be called upon for saves on numerous occasions.

Jack Butland, STK v. CHE ($5,000): Butland and Stoke are the biggest home underdog on the slate, which usually favors goalkeepers on FanDuel. Butland made six saves and scored 23.75 fantasy points against Manchester United in his last home game, and he came up with 34.00 thanks to seven saves and a clean sheet against Arsenal before that.

DEFENDER

Marcos Alonso, CHE at STK ($7,500): While he put up a four-point dud in his last outing against Arsenal, Alonso's steep price is justified by his upside. He plays in more of an attacking role on the left wing for Chelsea, and a two-goal, 54-point outburst against Tottenham four games ago is a good indicator of what he can do.

Ben Mee, BUR v. HUD ($7,000): Mee's game is complimented by the FanDuel scoring system and his 24.8 fantasy points per game is the highest average among defenders on the slate. He's back on the FanDuel radar in what should be a competitive match at home against Premier League newcomers Huddersfield Town.

Cuco Martina, EVE v. BOU ($5,000): Martina has quietly put together back-to-back games with at least 20 fantasy points, and he comes at a reasonable price playing in a favorable matchup. He's racking up fantasy points across multiple defensive categories and is fully capable of contributing in the attack as well.

MIDFIELDER

Philippe Coutinho LIV at LEI ($10,000): Coutinho scored 22.5 fantasy points without a goal or an assist in his season debut last weekend against Burnley. He provides a relatively safe floor based on his involvement and has a high ceiling given his role in the attack. He only played one half in Tuesday's League Cup loss at Leicester, so he should be raring to go if he's back in the starting lineup.

Robbie Brady, BUR v. HUD ($8,000): Despite a dismal 7.25 fantasy points in his last home game, which came against Crystal Palace, Brady is averaging over 22 fantasy points per game across his last three. Burnley will look to Brady to lead them to a good result at home against Huddersfield, and he'll be eager to build on his scintillating free-kick goal in League Cup action Tuesday.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, EVE v. BOU ($7,500): Sigurdsson's had a rough start to the season with Everton, albeit against one of the toughest schedules any team has faced through their first five games. He managed 17.75 fantasy points at Manchester United in his last outing, and with Everton desperate for a result, look for him to exceed that in what could be his coming out party for Everton.

FORWARD

Sergio Aguero, MCI v. CRY ($13,000): Aguero followed up a 46-point effort against Liverpool with a massive 89 at Watford last weekend, and now he gets to feast on last-place Crystal Palace. Be mindful of rotation with Manchester City playing Champions League on Tuesday, with teammate Gabriel Jesus a viable pivot for $1,500 less if Aguero is rested.

Wayne Rooney, EVE v. BOU ($9,000): Rooney started the season with a goal in each of his first two games, but he has failed to make an impression on the scoresheet in his last three. Everton have played Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City in their last four matches, so a lack of production over that stretch can mostly be forgiven. Look for Rooney to get back on track at home against Bournemouth.

Tammy Abraham, SWA v. WAT ($7,500): Although he has just one goal this season, Abraham leads Swansea City with eight shots. Swansea have yet to score in two home matches, but one against a Watford team that was beat up for six goals in their last game presents a good opportunity for Abraham and Swansea to give their fans something to cheer about.
