FanDuel MLB: Monday Picks

FanDuel MLB: Monday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Pitchers

Corey Kluber, $9,800 - If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Kluber K'd 18 last time out and should head into this game with a ton of confidence. While the White Sox don't strike out a ton, Kluber should be primed for another stellar outing and this comes as a pitcher you don't want to fade.

Catcher

Stephen Vogt, $3,900 - If you're going to pay up for a position tonight, it doesn't come any better than Vogt. He gets a mediocre pitching prospect in a nice hitter's park and he should be hitting in the middle of the lineup. The over/under is at a healthy 8.5 and if Oakland is going to score runs, it's likely Vogt will have a hand in it.

First Base

Ryan Howard, $3,400 - Again, this isn't the cheapest price on the board but it's difficult to ignore what Howard has done this season. He's already hit seven home runs this season and will be hitting in one of the best hitter's parks in baseball tonight. This is a nice price considering Paul Goldschmidt is $2000 more expensive.

Second Base

Daniel Descalso, $2,900 - The injury to Troy Tulowitzki has opened up playing time for Descalso and he's trying his best to be a fantasy star. He has multi-hit games in his last three starts and while the matchup against Cole Hamels is not ideal, he'll be in the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field.

Third Base

Maikel Franco, $2,200 - The rookie is still at the minimum price and gets a nice matchup in a great hitter's park. He's the best option at the position given his price and is coming off a game in which he had both a home run and a triple. Looking at the short slate of games and given his price, he's the perfect punt play of today's games.

Shortstop

Marcus Semien, $3,400 - The position has been pretty thin this season and Semien has been one of the most consistent producers at the position. He's hit safely in eight of his last nine games and five of those contests were multi-hit performances. Again, he'll get a rookie in Lance McCullers which is a good matchup given the pitchers on tonight's slate.

Outfield

Chris Carter, $3,000 - Carter's price has crept up slowly and the big slugger has two home runs over his last week. He has always hit lefties better than right-handed pitchers and Minute Maid Park plays favorably to right-handed hitters. Carter, one of the premier power hitters in the game, is capable of a multi-home run game and could be the difference maker on a night with a small slate of games.

Drew Stubbs, $3,000 - As stated previously, the matchup against Cole Hamels isn't favorable but it will take place in Colorado. Stubbs has been inserted into the lineup whenever the Rockies are going against a southpaw and has a nice skill set. Stubbs has both the power and speed to make him a nice DFS commodity and is only a year removed from a 15-20 season in less than 425 plate appearances.

Kris Davis, $2,800 - Davis has been hit or miss all season and it was only 10 days ago he put together back-to-back games of 11-plus points. Tonight he gets a nice matchup and should be able to take advantage of the lefty-righty platoon going against Kyle Lobstein. While expecting another double-digit performance is unlikely, there's a lot of reason to believe a healthy fantasy output is in the works for Davis.
