Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hinds did his best Aristides Aquino impression last season, bursting onto the scene before pulling a disappearing act. His run was brief but insane, as Hinds became just the second player in history to hit five home runs in his first six games. The Reds didn't seem to put much stock into it, which was understandable given the minuscule sample and Hinds' sky-high strikeout rate in the minors. He logged a mere seven plate appearances in September when the Reds were well out of playoff contention, which speaks to just how poor the body of work was at Triple-A Louisville. His power/speed combo will keep him on the radar, but the 24-year-old will need to cut down on the swing and miss in his game if he's going to have a chance at long-term success against big-league pitching. Sent back to Triple-A
The Reds optioned Hinds to Triple-A Louisville on Monday.
Analysis
After being promoted from Louisville on June 22, Hinds appeared in seven games for the Reds and went 2-for-23 with four runs scored. In a corresponding move, the Reds reinstated Connor Joe (illness) from the 10-day injured list, and he'll likely replace Hinds as a short-side platoon player in the corner outfield.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2021
In 58 games from June 11 through the end of the season, Hinds slashed .324/.398/.671 with 18 home runs, 11 steals and a 25.1 percent strikeout rate as a 22-year-old at Double-A. The pre-tacked balls were removed from the Southern League mid-season, so that aided his improved play after he notched a 41.9 percent strikeout rate in the first 50 games. A former third baseman, Hinds has a huge arm in right field and moves well for his size (6-foot-4, 215 pounds). The Reds added him to the 40-man roster as Rule 5 draft protection, and it's easy to fixate on his 70-grade raw power in Great American Ball Park. First, he'll need to prove that this newfound ability to make contact at an acceptable clip is sustainable as he moves up to Triple-A. The risk is obvious, but Hinds' 40-homer upside and proximity to the majors are appealing in all dynasty formats.
