Sorare NBA Market Update: Gameweek 3
Every NBA team has played a handful of games, which has yielded some intrigue on the individual player front. When you are making Sorare NBA decisions, you might wonder what to make of the intrigue, both positive and negative. If you are bold by nature, you may be willing to chase a hot streak and hope the sample size doesn't prove misleading, but whether you are adventurous or risk-averse, you'll want more information to guide your Sorare NBA decisions before it comes to a crunch. That's why I am here with an upgrade, a hold, and a downgrade for this week.
All Sorare values as of 9 p.m. ET on November 3.
Upgrade
Matas Buzelis, CHI ($25.11): The Bulls have gotten off to a hot start, and Buzelis seems to be in for a sophomore surge instead of a sophomore slump (I opted to keep it alliterative). He's gone from 8.6 points per game to 15.7, but he's improved across the board. That's in his field-goal, free-throw, and three-point percentages, but also in the number of shots, free throws, and threes he's taking. Buzelis had a bad game early in the year at Orlando, but otherwise, he's been over 20.0 Sorare points every time, and I feel like he might be good enough this year to generate some "Second-year players shouldn't be considered for Most Improved!" discourse.
Hold
RJ Barrett, TOR ($21.18): When Barrett was a Knick, he got a lot of attention because being in New York and being the third-overall pick will inherently lead to handwringing if you're not exceeding lofty expectations. Now he's a Raptor, and the hands aren't wringing, but he's also kind of settled into being the guy that he is. His field-goal percentage, free-throw percentage, and three-point percentage are all up, and after averaging 21.1 points per game last year, this season he's averaged…20.4. Barrett is a 20-per-game guy who won't bring a ton of rebounds or assists but will score enough to bring you between, say 20 and 40 Sorare points most nights. You don't have to wring your hands, but you can't get too excited about any remaining upside either.
Downgrade
Zaccharie Risacher, ATL ($23.32): While Buzelis has stepped forward in his sophomore season, the first-overall pick from last year has gotten a bit of a "Thanks, we're good" from his team. Risacher showed upside as a rookie, so it's not so much about him. It's just that Jalen Johnson is healthy, they added Kristaps Porzingis, and with injuries in Boston and Indiana the Hawks realized, "Wow, a path to the three seed is plausible." Risacher's minutes are down, his shooting opportunities are down, and he hasn't even crossed 25.0 Sorare points yet. This is a weird circumstance where the ping pong balls bounced Atlanta's way in theory, but in practice, it hasn't really proven fruitful for the team or the player thus far. I mean that in the way of, "Is Risacher's best path as the centerpiece of a trade?"
