Cedi Osman

Cedi Osman was born in 1995 in Ohrid, Macedonia. He has an older brother, Dzaner, who played professionally in Europe for six seasons. Osman started with Turkish club Anadolu Efes in 2007 as a youth member and eventually signed a pro contract with them in 2012. Osman has represented Turkey in several events, including winning gold at the 2013 FIBA U-18 European Championship and the 2014 FIBA U-20 European Championship. He was taken by the Timberwolves in the second round of the 2015 Draft but stayed in Europe until 2017 when he reached a deal with the Cavaliers, who had acquired his rights on draft night. When he was 12 years old, he moved to Anadolu Efes, where he played for the club's junior teams. He was on loan to Perteveniyal for two seasons. He moved to the senior team in 2013-14. Osman started as a reserve but moved his way up the depth chart. In 2015-16, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 23 games. He became a starter the following season and provided 7.1 points and 2.8 rebounds in 35 games. Osman also represented Turkey in international competition. In the 2012 Albert Schweitzer Tournament, he helped his team win the bronze medal and was named Most Talented Player. Osman also helped Turkey win gold medals in the 2013 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship and 2014 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship. He made himself available for the 2015 NBA Draft and was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 31st overall pick.
