Betting on A.J. Burnett

Record 13-19

Bank Account -910

Reds at Yankees - Initially I liked the O9.5, but I can't shake how the Reds simply can't hit right now. The Reds have scored three or less in seven of their last ten games! Ivan Nova takes the hill for the Yankees while Homer Bailey takes the mound for the Reds. Nova has been terrible lately allowing five or more earned runs in three of his past four starts. Bailey has been his usual unpredictable self allowing one earned run in his previous start, but six earned runs in the start previous to that.

TV's Take: U9.5 +105/Bet U9.5 $100 to win $105

Mets at Blue Jays - Brandon Morrow takes the hill for the Blue Jays as they look to build upon the 14 runs they scored last night vs the Mets. Morrow may finally be having the year many of us have been waiting for. In his last four starts teams are hitting only .168 vs Morrow and he is blowing away batters at a rate of 11.8 K's per inning over the same time frame. The Mets counter with Miquel Batista who picked up the win vs the Brewers on Monday allowing only one run. The money line is a whopping -200 right now up from a open of -180 so lets take the run line which is -1.5 +110 for the Blue Jays. I see another 8+ runs for the Blue Jays in this one.

TV's Take: Tor -1.5 +100/Bet $200 to win $200

Pirates at Tigers - The return of A.J. Burnett to the AL! I can hear the Tiger hitters salivating. Well, a closer look tells us that A.J. actually pitched well against the Tigers last year as he was 2-1 at Comerica Park with a 3.06 ERA. Do we trust this stat? It means nothing to me because AJ pitches for the Pirates who have the worst batting average, least amount of runs scored, and lowest on-base percentage in baseball. Considering Tigers starter Drew Smyly gets a whopping 4.26 of run support per start I love the Tigers in this game. Also, there is excellent value on the run line today which perhaps is taking A.J.'s numbers into account vs Detroit or Vegas sees the Tigers as a big sucker play at -1.5. Call me a big old sucker!

TV's Take: Tigers -1.5 +130/Bet $200 to win $260
