FanDuel College Basketball: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel College Basketball: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel College Basketball series.

FanDuel's early slate Saturday features 15 games, giving owners 30 teams and 150 starters to sort through. We've reached a point in the season where rotations are increasingly more stable and matchups are becoming a little more important to finding value options. Whether these fit that bill, or we've found a few guys playing at a higher level will be known by 5:00 p.m. EST on Saturday.

Guards

Glynn Watson Jr., NEB vs. RUTG ($5,400): The Cornhuskers enter Saturday having lost three straight but get just what the doctor ordered in lowly Rutgers at home. The Scarlet Knights have allowed at least 88 points in six of their last seven games, and this is a contest where Nebraska should take out some of their recent frustrations on a hapless opponent. For his part, Watson has scored at least 10 points in five straight, and that with very minor peripheral numbers would justify this price. He could add ample minutes and production as a calming influence with the team's second unit once the game gets out of hand.

JaJuan Johnson, MRQTT at XAV ($5,900): Johnson has been white hot over his last three games, hitting 19-of-32 from the floor en route to a 16.0 point per game average. He's chipped in 11 rebounds and nine assists in that span and should offer a nice complementary weapon in a game where the Musketeers will likely focus their defensive efforts towards any number of the Golden Eagles four double-digit scorers.

Farad Cobb, CIN at MEMPH ($5,900): Cobb is an interesting case in that it's hard to find a team's leading scorer at this low of a price. The problem is he does next to nothing else, averaging 1.8 boards, 1.7 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game. It could make his teammate, Troy Caupain a safer choice with more upside, but Memphis is giving up points in bunches of late while Cincinnati has hit 88 points in two of their last three. Cobb could flirt with his first 20 point game since Jan. 2.

Others to consider: Toddrick Gotcher, TXTCH at TEX ($6,100); Troy Caupain, CIN at MEMPH ($6,300); Luke Kennard, DUKE vs. NCSTA ($5,900)

Forwards

Jaylen Bond, TEMPL at UCF ($6,300): Bond looks like a nice tournament gamble as his price hasn't quite rebounded to what it was pre-ankle injury. He's coming off his first double-double since Jan. 13 (in his second game back after missing two) and remains the team's second-leading scorer and leading rebounder despite some recent setbacks. There's plenty of upside in the senior forward against a youthful Knights lineup.

Duncan Robinson MICH vs. MCHST ($5,900): Robinson is the Wolverines' second-leading scorer, but with Caris LeVert still sidelined by injury, he's the default top option. Consistency isn't Robinson's forte, as he's mixed in four efforts of eight points or fewer with six double-digit outings. But Robinson finds a way to add a few boards and a few assists each game, giving him a much higher floor than the aforementioned Farad Cobb when looking at cheap scoring options.

Chris Oliver, OKST vs. IOWST ($4,800): Oliver's season has been a bit of a disappointment, averaging 9.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, his lowest averages since his freshman season. But he's showing signs of finally adjusting to the level of competition after transferring from Eastern Illinois. In his last three games he is averaging 14.7 points while chipping in 3.3 boards. Those totals at this price certainly play well, suggesting Oliver is a worthwhile gamble against the Cyclones.

Others to consider: Prince Ibeh, TEX vs. TXTCH ($6,600); Anas Mahmoud, LOUIS vs. BOSTC ($4,700)
