Second T20I Preview: Bangladesh vs. West Indies

Bangladesh and West Indies are ready to face off in the second T20 international of the three-match series in Dhaka on Thursday. In the series opener, the visitors made a grand start and registered a thumping eight-wicket win, courtesy of brilliant performances from Sheldon Cottrell and Shai Hope. Therefore, in the second game of the series, the Caribbean giants will enter as a firm favourite as they will be eyeing a series win.

In the batting department, the team will be relying on in-form Hope once again to provide the much-needed platform for the other players to capitalise on, whereas in the bowling department, the team management will be hoping that Cottrell and co. will continue their good form.

For the home side, the match is going to be a must-win clash as they cannot afford any more mistakes if they are to stay alive in the series. In the batting department, the team will be relying on experienced trio of captain Shakib al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim to score the bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Mustafizur Rahman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mohammad Saifuddin.

Key Players:

Mohammad Saifuddin – 8.5 Cr

First in the list of key players features Bangladesh's Mohammad Saifuddin. The 22-year-old is highly-rated in the cricketing circles in Bangladesh and has showed time and again that he is worthy of that hype around him. Valued at 8.5 Cr, Saifuddin had a poor day

Valued at 8.5 Cr, Saifuddin had a poor day during the series opener where he scored just one run and claimed figures of one for 13 in one over. However, Saifuddin might still prove to be a trump card for your team as he is not only handy with the ball but can contribute important runs towards the end of the innings. Saifuddin has only represented Bangladesh in seven T20Is, where he has scored 89 runs and claimed five wickets.

Shakib al Hasan – 10.5 Cr

Second in the list features Bangladesh's captain Shakib al Hasan. The 31-year-old was perhaps the only player from the home team who had a good time in the series opener where he finished the match with the top score of 61 off 43 balls with the help of eight fours and two sixes. That was not it, as he was also the most economical bowler for Bangladesh. Therefore, Al Hasan, who is valued at 10.5 Cr, is the player to have in your team as he is in good form and also has a good record while playing in Dhaka. Al Hasan has represented Bangladesh in 70 T20Is, where he has scored 1,429 runs and claimed 80 wickets.

Sheldon Cottrell – 8.5 Cr

Last in the list of key players features West Indies' Sheldon Cottrell. The 29-year-old was a real surprise package in the series opener where he claimed figures of four for 28, for which he was also named player of the match. Therefore, Cottrell, who is valued at 8.5 Cr, is a player worth gambling on as slow and low conditions in Dhaka might suit his bowling style even more. Cottrell has represented West Indies in eight T20Is, where he has 13 wickets to his name.
