Best NFL Preseason Picks for Saturday, August 16

Best NFL Picks current as of 12:00 PM ET Saturady.

Stetson Bennett 170.5 Pass Yards (More - PrizePicks)

The Rams love playing Bennett in every preseason game, and they clearly like him as a backup and perhaps a bridge quarterback once Matthew Stafford decides to hang them up. It doesn't hurt that he gets to play in head coach Sean McVay's scheme. Playing time is king in the exhibition season, and the Rams backups always get ample playing time with McVay never deploying his key contributors in games that don't count.

Dante Miller 26.5 Rushing Yards (Higher - Underdog Fantasy)

With Cam Skattebo and Eric Gray hurt it will be Miller and Jonathan Ward getting all the reps after the top two running backs on the depth chart leave the game. A significant chunk of playing time will be available for Miller, who has had an impressive camp while competing for a roster spot.

Rasheen Ali 30.5 Rush Yards (More - PrizePicks)

As a Marshall alum this may seem to be a biased pick toward a player from the same university, but the truth of the matter is no Ravens starter is expected to play Saturday, and Keaton Mitchell looks unlikey to play. That leaves Ali and two newcomers to handle all the running back work, and the former should lead the crew in touches and snaps. For Underdog Fantasy purposes, I'm banking on a touchdown as well.

Sam Ehlinger 74.5 Passing Yards (Higher - Underdog Fantasy)

Before the booing starts, hear me out. Ehlinger should get the entire second half, and he's in a Sean Payton offense, which has the ability to bring out the best in quarterback. Ehlinger is also in the same mold as Bo Nix as far as moving in the pocket, but the main problem is he's a lot less accurate. Fortunately, all we need is 75 yards out of him.
