Back with Baltimore
WRBaltimore Ravens
February 19, 2025
The Ravens re-signed Kirkwood on Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirkwood spent the entire 2024 campaign on Baltimore's practice squad, though he didn't appear in a single game with the team, despite being elevated for the Ravens' AFC wild-card round win over Pittsburgh. The veteran journeyman will spend the offseason competing for an opportunity to reprise a similar reserve role in the 2025 campaign.

Kirkwood appeared in five games while bouncing back and forth between the Saints' practice squad and active roster last season, catching two of four targets over this span. The 28-year-old did sign a one-year extension this offseason, but he'll likely need to fight for a roster spot again after the team added free-agent wideouts James Washington and Bryan Edwards along with rookie A.T. Perry this offseason.
A broken clavicle restricted Kirkwood to just one appearance for the Panthers last season, yet the team opted to bring him back for 2021, when he's expected to compete for a depth role in Carolina's receiving corps.
In signing with the Panthers this offseason, Kirkwood reunited with his college coach, Matt Rhule. The pair spent time together at Temple before Kirkwood joined the Saints in his 2018 rookie season. That campaign saw him catch 13 of 21 targets for 209 yards and two touchdowns, but he was limited to just one appearance last year while nursing a hamstring injury. The 25-year-old will aim to get back on track in his new yet familiar surroundings, but with options like Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson and Curtis Samuel, among others, also around, Kirkwood appears hard-pressed to carve out a very meaningful offensive role this season.
Kirkwood was unable to break training camp with the Saints, but the undrafted rookie earned a callup from the practice squad in November and immediately secured a spot in the team's receiver rotation. He logged double-digit snaps in the final eight regular-season contests and a season-high 53 in the Saints' divisional-round win over the Eagles, hauling in 15 of 23 targets for 217 yards and three scores over that span. A calf issue forced him out of the NFC Championship Game loss to the Rams, but Kirkwood likely did enough before that to enter 2019 as the fourth man on the depth chart. It would probably take an injury to one of the wideouts ahead of him for Kirkwood to make a consistent fantasy impact during the upcoming campaign, but he's at least aided by the fact that New Orleans made no major additions to their receiver room during the offseason.

Has visit with Bears
WRFree Agent
May 13, 2022
Kirkwood visited with the Bears on Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirkwood has previously played for the Saints and Panthers. He's hoping to latch on with a Bears team that's failed to surround second-year quarterback Justin Fields with quality wide receivers outside of Darnell Mooney.
