PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

Keegan Bradley was the poster boy who controlled the "five-and-a-half inches between the ears," as Bobby Jones said many years ago. This is how Jones described how to play the game.

It is widely known that Bradley got advice from Dr. Bob Rotella, a sports psychologist, as well as from his coach, Jim McLean, and Phil Mickelson. Their efforts were centered on patience, positive attitude and concentration. Bradley exemplified those attributes when he was down five shots with three holes to go - that's P.R.E.S.S.U.R.E.

Bradley earned an extra year added to his two-year exemption coming from his win at the Byron Nelson Championship plus tee times at the Players, the Masters, the U.S. Open and British Open, thus we will see him validate this hard earned major win.

WYNDHAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Arjun Atwal's stats are above. His accuracy off the tee probably helped greatly in this bogey-fest. Coupling 300-yard drives that hit most of the fairways (11 for 14 average) puts a high-numbered iron in the player's hands with tightly mowed grass. While driving accuracy isn't a vital factor, it is a very useful talent at any type course.

Five of the 2010 top-10 finishers are in the Wyndham this week:

2. David Toms, 19-under
T3. Justin Leonard, 18-under
7. Lucas Glover, 17-under
T8. Webb Simpson, 16-under; Brandt Snedeker, 16-under

Expect the birdies to be plentiful again this year. Some of the entries are trying to qualify for the FedEx payoffs by finishing in the top 125 on the PGA Tour money list, while others are trying to move up in FedEx points, which carry over into the playoffs. Ironically, Atwal wasn't a PGA Tour member last year, and thus didn't earn a spot in the 2010 FedEx playoffs.

In addition to the above five, some prominent golfers are participating:

Angel Cabrerfa
Ernie El
Jim Furyk
Anthony Kim
Davis Love III
Ian Poulter
Webb Simpson
Vijay Singh

Talents needed: Driving accuracy, ball striking, birdies, birdies, birdies, proximity to the hole and, as always, scrambling and strong putting.
