2026 Fantasy Outlook
Ortiz’s performance during the 2025 LIV Golf league established him as a top-10 player in the breakaway tour. He wasn’t able to win a tournament as he did in 2024 at LIV Golf Houston, but he finished in the top 10 in six tournaments (including four top-5 performances) while ranking in the top 15 in the field in GIR, driving distance, birdies made and putts per hole. Ortiz qualified for two of the four major championships in 2025, and while he failed to make the cut at The Open, he played himself into contention at the U.S. Open Championship before finishing tied for fourth. Thanks to his performance at Oakmont, Ortiz is guaranteed a spot in both The Masters and the U.S. Open in 2026 and will look to earn qualification to the PGA Championship and The Open. Fails to capitalize on strong start
Ortiz finished solo sixth at LIV Golf Hong Kong after posting a 16-under cumulative score.
ANALYSIS
Ortiz set the tone early with a spectacular opening round, carding a 10-under 60 that ended up being the best 18-hole stretch of the tournament. He entered the weekend at the top of the leaderboard after a four-under 66 second round, but he failed to hold onto his top spot after posting back-to-back one-under 69 rounds to end the event. It was a disappointing finish for Ortiz, who was seeking his first LIV Golf victory since Houston in June of 2024. He'll look to bounce back next week at LIV Golf Singapore, where he finished T19 in 2024 and 37th in 2025.
