FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Picks

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

After a quiet Monday, the NHL picks up the pace with 10 games Tuesday. That provides you with a lot more players to choose from as you while away these cold winter days playing daily fantasy. Here are some of the better values we have found for tonight:

GOALIE

Devan Dubnyk, MIN vs. FLA ($9,100): The Wild have won four in a row, while the Panthers are 3-4-3 in their last 10 games. Thanks to Dubnyk's league-leading .946 save percentage, Minnesota also tops the NHL in fewest goals allowed, letting in a mere two per game. Also, the Panthers are only averaging a meager 2.34 goals per game. Dubnyk seems like a good bet to get a win and also to not be terribly bothered by Florida.

CENTER

Logan Couture, SAN vs. TOR ($6,900): The Maple Leafs are allowing three goals and 32 shots on net per contest. A lot of Couture's success has come on the power play, and Toronto actually has a good penalty kill, but he does have 19 points total and has taken 82 shots on goal. Couture has routinely been a 20-plus goal scorer in his career, and this is one of the better matchups Tuesday.

Dylan Larkin, DET vs. ARI ($5,300): The Coyotes are the only team playing on Monday and Tuesday, and the Wings will hope Mike Smith won't be in net. Even if he is, Arizona still sits last in the league in shots allowed per game with 35. Larkin has done plenty of shooting, as he has nine goals on 84 shots, including three on the power-play. For this price, Larkin could be a potential steal, especially if Smith doesn't get the start.

WING

Corey Perry, ANA at DAL ($7,000): It's never a bad thing to start a fantasy player against the team allowing the most goals in the league. The Stars also have the worst team save percentage. In fact, they are one of only two teams with a sub-.900 save percentage. Despite an unusually low 6.8 shooting percentage, Perry is still having a solid season, including 11 power-play points. Once the puck luck picks up, it'll be even better.

Jeff Skinner, CAR vs. VAN ($6,600): Ryan Miller remains day-to-day, which means Jacob Markstrom and his .905 save percentage will likely be in net. Skinner is averaging his most minutes since the 2011-12 season, and he's put a whopping 99 shots on goal. You can rely on Skinner putting pucks on net, especially against Vancouver and their 23rd-place ranking in goals allowed.

Rickard Rakell, ANA at DAL ($5,800): There's room for more than one Duck wing to succeed against the Stars, and Rakell has the potential to bring you some real bang for your buck. Rakell has had trouble staying healthy, but has excelled when on the ice. He has 16 points in 18 games, including two in two games since returning from his latest injury. The Stars don't seem like the team to cool Rakell down.

Marian Gaborik, LOS at BUF ($5,200): The Sabres are 11th in goals allowed, but there are still reasons to be intrigued by this matchup. Buffalo ranks 27th in shots allowed per game at 32.3, and they are 29th on the penalty kill. Gaborik missed a lot of time with injury, but he's got four points (two on the power play) and he's put 18 shots on goal in six games. At this price, he looks like a potential value.

DEFENSEMEN

Ryan McDonagh, NYR vs. CHI ($5,400): The Blackhawks are giving up 30.8 shots per game, and their penalty kill remains last in the NHL. McDonagh has six points with the extra man, and he's playing 3:22 a night on the power play. While he's been unlucky to only have one goal (his shooting percentage is a mere 2.0), he's added 16 assists to keep himself a strong fantasy performer. He's clearly New York's best defenseman, and this is a matchup worth taking advantage of.

Cam Fowler, ANA at DAL ($5,000): Let's add one more Duck, because Fowler seems really underpriced. He's never really slowed down after a hot start, and he's averaging a career-high 24 minutes per game. He's notched nine power-play points, which is a good sign heading into a matchup with the 27th-ranked penalty kill. While his shooting percentage is the highest of his career, he's put 64 shots on goal in 29 games, which is valuable for a defenseman even if fewer shots are going in.
