There are four games in the NHL on Wednesday. Here are a handful of selections across multiple price points to consider while assembling your FanDuel lineups.
GOALIE
Aaron Dell, SAN at OTT ($7,700): The Sharks rallied to grab a shootout win in Toronto on Tuesday, and they should turn to Dell on the second leg of the back-to-back road games. Typically, that isn't a good spot, but San Jose is a superior team to Ottawa up and down the lineup. Additionally, Dell offers significant cap relief and owns a solid .926 save percentage and 2.16 GAA behind San Jose's stalwart team defense (2.17 goals against per game).
CENTER
Evgeni Malkin, PIT vs. BOS ($8,400): With 232 points -- 90 goals -- through 215 games over the past four years, Malkin is showing no sign of slowing down. After all, his 3.35 points per 60 minutes during that four-year span is the second-highest mark among all skaters with at least 4,000 minutes, with only teammate Sidney Crosby (3.4) ahead of him. The Bruins have been a strong defensive club, which will hopefully keep Malkin's ownership lower than it should be, as he's had little trouble solving Tuukka Rask in the past.
Sam Bennett, CGY vs. TAM ($4,700): Continuing to play with Johnny Gaudreau in all situations, Bennett has two goals and two assists during Calgary's current six-game winning streak. Tampa Bay has also allowed 3.5 goals per game over its past 10 outings, so at Bennett's cap hit, he's a nice value play.
WING
Phil Kessel, PIT vs. BOS ($7,500): This has been the year of Kessel, as the 29-year-old winger has 35 goals, 91 points and 329 shots through 98 games in 2016, including last season's playoffs. This salary doesn't reflect the elite offensive numbers he's put up since overcoming last year's slow start in a Pittsburgh uniform, and while Boston is a difficult matchup, it could present contrarian upside.
Jakub Voracek, PHI at COL ($7,400): Reunited with Claude Giroux at five-on-five, Voracek has four goals and 15 points through his past nine games, and the duo has combined for a solid 2.79 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five. It's a great matchup with Colorado allowing the third-most goals per game (3.15) in the league, too.
Mikko Rantanen, COL vs. PHI ($4,600): After easing into the season, Rantanen has posted 11 points -- four goals -- through his past 15 games while averaging 17:56 of ice per night and 2:37 with the man advantage. This salary provides nice value, and despite a nine-game winning streak, the Flyers have allowed 2.97 goals per game. It isn't out of the question that a letdown showing is ahead of Philadelphia, either.
DEFENSE
Shayne Gostisbehere, PHI at COL ($5,700): After collecting an assist in each of his prior four games, Gostisbehere was scratched with a hand injury Sunday. He's apparently ready to return Wednesday and could carry lower ownership because of the ailment. Additionally, Gostisbehere's 2.01 points per 60 minutes since entering the league line up nicely next to Colorado's 3.15 goals against per game.
Tyson Barrie, COL vs. PHI ($5,100): Since Erik Johnson (leg) went down, Barrie has averaged 3:34 of power-play time per game and picked up two assists. Additionally, over the past three years, Barrie owns a fourth-ranked 1.67 points per 60 minutes among defenseman with at least 4,000 minutes. The Flyers have been hot, but they're also sitting on 2.97 goals allowed per game this year, which checks out as the sixth-highest mark in the league.
