Secures win at UFC 260
FlyweightUFC
March 27, 2021
Maverick defeated Gillian Robertson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC 260 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was another solid, yet inconsistent, effort from Maverick. That shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone considering the Missouri native won't be turning 24 years of age until July. Maverick dominated Round 1 on the strength of her striking, but Robertson was the more effective fighter in Round 2 on the strength of her grappling. The fact Maverick managed to put together a strong final frame on the mat is a good sign. Maverick is both talented and aggressive, but she is prone to many of the mistakes you would expect from a fighter who is so young. The only thing that matters at this point is that she remains healthy and continues to get reps inside the Octagon. The rest will take care of itself.

The scheduled fight between Maverick and Gillian Robertson has been removed from the card for UFC 258 on Saturday after Robertson decided to withdraw with a non-COVID related illness, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This announcement comes just hours before Maverick and Robertson were supposed to square off. Two of her last three fights have been called off now as she'll look ahead to hopefully finding a new opponent later this year.

January 13, 2021
Maverick will fight Gillian Robertson in a flyweight bout at UFC 258 on Feb. 13, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Maverick dominated in her UFC debut last October when she defeated Liana Jojua by TKO. She will hope to improve her career MMA record to 9-2 when she takes on Robertson. Maverick will have a two inch reach advantage.
Dominates in UFC debut
FlyweightUFC
October 24, 2020
Maverick defeated Liana Jojua via TKO (doctor stoppage) at 5:00 of Round 1 at UFC 254 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
It was a dominant performance from Maverick in her UFC debut. Facing an opponent who clearly couldn't match her power and hand speed, Maverick strayed from her usual submission-based attack and instead went about picking Jojua apart on the feet. Maverick has some technical things she needs to work on in her striking game, but she certainly displayed legitimate power in this one. The vast majority of Maverick's future potential is tied to the fact she is just 23 years old. The fact she already has 10 professional fights under her belt at such a young age is a promising sign. Maverick is certainly worth monitoring moving forward.
