Wins in return from long layoff
BantamweightUFC
May 10, 2025
Santos defeated Jeong Yeong Lee via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC 315 on Saturday in Montreal.
ANALYSIS
Santos was due to face Davey Grant in Vegas last month before being forced to withdraw due to a "medical issue." He stepped in here against Lee and got progressively stronger after a lousy start. Santos failed on all five of his Round 1 takedown attempts, but he stuck with the game plan. Aided by his exhausted opponent, the Brazilian was able to racked up six takedowns and 4:59 worth of control time in the final two rounds alone, guaranteeing the decision. Santos has fought just three times since October 2022, but he's won each of them.

Next fight booked
BantamweightUFC
February 21, 2025
Santos will take on Davey Grant in a bantamweight bout at UFC Vegas 105 on April 5, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Santos was initially slated to compete in UFC 308 against Said Nurmagomedov, but he withdrew for an unknown reason. That was the second straight fight he cancelled, and he'll look to avoid that fight against Grant in what should be an intriguing matchup. Grant, nine years Santos' senior, has an inch of height and two inches of reach on him. Santos will look to push his UFC record to 3-1 and log his third straight victory in the promotion.

Santos withdrew from his scheduled fight against Said Nurmagomedov at UFC 308, according to Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
ANALYSIS
This is the second consecutive fight Santos had scheduled but withdrew from for some form of reason. The first time was before UFC Sau Paulo back in late-2023, when he was scheduled to fight Daniel Marcos.
Finally scheduled for fight
BantamweightUFC
September 18, 2024
Santos (undisclosed) is scheduled to compete against fellow bantamweight Said Nurmagomedov in Abu Dhabi at UFC 308 on Oct. 26, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Santos' next opponent had been scheduled for UFC Saudi Arabia before a problem forced him to withdraw from that event. Santos has had much more inactivity though, as he had not been scheduled for nearly a year after withdrawing from fighting Daniel Marcos in 2023.
