Tim Elliott

Taps out in Tampa
October 12, 2019
Elliott lost to Deiveson Figueiredo via submission (Guillotine Choke) at 3:08 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Tampa.
Elliott has never been one to turn down a fight and his record over the years has suffered because of it. Saturday was no different. Facing another one of the flyweight division's very best fighters, Elliott left his neck exposed while going for a takedown attempt and he was tapping out moments later. It was a rookie mistake, and one that a fighter like Elliott, with zero margin for error, simply cannot afford to make. The 32-year-old has alternated wins and losses in his past five bouts dating back to December 2016.

Scheduled for UFC Tampa
August 6, 2019
Elliott will take on Deiveson Figueiredo in a flyweight matchup at UFC Tampa on Oct. 12, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
Elliott hasn't fought since Dec. 30 of 2017 and underwent knee surgery in June of 2018 after reportedly tearing every ligament and the meniscus in his knee. He's finally returned to a form that will allow him to get back in the action, but the 32-year-old will likely aim for takedowns (4.26 per 15 minutes) and submission attempts (1.4 per 15) in his upset bid since he's giving up two inches of reach to Figueiredo.
Undergoes knee surgery
June 19, 2018
Elliott recently underwent right knee surgery, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.
Elliott reportedly tore every ligament and meniscus in the knee, so it's a fairly significant development and the 32-year-old is in line for a lengthy absence moving forward. There's yet to be any sort of update on a timetable, but it's safe to assume Elliott won't be back in the Octagon until well into 2019. Elliott most recently secured a bounce-back submission win over Mark Delarosa in December at UFC 219, bringing his career record to 15-8.
Cruises to easy victory at UFC 219
December 30, 2017
Elliott defeated Mark Delarosa via submission (anaconda choke) at 1:41 of Round 2 at UFC 219 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Fighting with a heavy heart due to the recent passing of his former coach Robert Follis, Elliott dominated an overmatched Delarosa in all aspects of the fight. He landed his only takedown attempt and was credited with a 54-4 edge in the total strike department. Elliott remains one of the most underrated fighters in the company and he should continue to make noise in a thin flyweight division.
Takes on Mark Delarosa next weekend
December 20, 2017
Elliott will face Mark Delarosa at UFC 219 in Las Vegas on December 30, Thomas Gerbasi of UFC.com reports.
Elliott will earn an opportunity to fight in December after all, following a debacle that left him without a partner for Winnipeg's card, due to Justin Scoggins' injury and Pietro Menga's inability to make weight. In his most recent bout, Elliott was bested by Ben Nguyen via submission in June, but is looking to get back on track against a newcomer in Delarosa. "The Bumblebee" will be making his first appearance in the promotion, and holds a perfect 9-0 record a professional, with his latest victory occuring at Combate 15 in late June against Mahatma Chit-Bala Garcia Avalos.
Will not fight at Winnipeg
December 15, 2017
Elliott's fight at UFC on Fox 26 on Dec. 16 in Winnipeg will not occur following Pietro Menga's failure to cut weight, Mike Bohn of USA Today Sports reports.
It appears as though Menga had some kidney problems after attempting to go from 155 pounds a couple weeks ago, to just 126 ahead of this bout. Elliott was originally slated to face off against Justin Scoggins, but he withdrew due to a spine injury, and now the 30-year-old will have to wait for his next opportunity within the promotion. During the course of 2017, Elliott defeated Louis Smolka via unanimous decision in April, and fell to Ben Nguyen in June.
