Deus da Guerra

Draws fight with Garbrandt
January 12, 2024
Figueiredo is scheduled to face Cody Garbrandt in a bantamweight fight at the UFC's March 30 event in Atlantic City, UFC president Dana White announced Friday via social media.
Figueiredo owns a 22-3-1 pro record and is a former flyweight champion who's looking to make a name for himself by moving up a class. Facing a touch challenger such as Garbrandt won't be easy, but Figueiredo had a strong debut in his new home by defeating Rob Font on Dec. 2. "Deus Da Guerra" has gone 11-3-1 at the UFC level in his career.

Shines in bantamweight debut
December 2, 2023
Figueiredo defeated Rob Font via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
Making his bantamweight debut after a legendary run at flyweight that included winning the 125-pound title, Figueiredo looked brilliant in his new weight class. He appeared to have more energy, and his power, always a strength at flyweight, carried over. He landed the more damaging shots throughout the course of the fight and took advantage of Font's notoriously poor takedown defense, connecting on 4-of-7 attempts for 4:02 worth of control time. 135 pounds is arguably the deepest division in the game today, but Figueiredo has never been lacking in terms of talent and ability. He's going to be a threat in his new home.

Figueiredo will look to get back on the winning path after dropping his most recent matchup with Brandon Moreno. The 35-year-old Brazilian fighter is 10-3-1 during his time with the UFC, and he will look to continue building his resume with the fighting company in December.
Won't fight Kape
April 26, 2023
Figueiredo (eye) failed to receive medical clearance Wednesday and will withdraw from his scheduled flyweight bout with Manel Kape at UFC 290 on July 8 in Las Vegas, reports.
Figueiredo is still dealing with eyesight issues from his fight with Brandon Moreno at UFC 283 in January. It's unclear if Figueiredo will move up to bantamweight or instead defend his No. 1 spot in the UFC flyweight rankings when he eventually returns to the Octagon.
Kape fight in the works
April 13, 2023
Figueiredo is expected to face Manel Kape in a flyweight fight at UFC 290 on July 8 in Paradise, per Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes.
It appears Figueiredo will not move up to bantamweight, at least not yet. If the Kape fight goes through as expected, it will be Figueiredo's first since his UFC 283 loss to Brandon Moreno. With a fifth match against the Assassin Baby unlikely, the Kape fight will test to see if Figueiredo can keep his coveted No. 1 spot on the UFC flyweight rankings.
Underwent successful surgery
January 31, 2023
Figueiredo received surgery on Tuesday to repair the injuries sustained during his fight with Brandon Moreno at UFC 283, reports.
Figueiredo suffered a fractured orbital bone and nose during his bout with Brandon Moreno, both of which were repaired surgically on Tuesday. The 35-year-old fighter recently announced that he will move up to bantamweight for his next fight. Figueiredo currently doesn't have a bout scheduled, leaving him plenty of time to recover.
