Lasts 14 seconds in Charlotte
WelterweightUFC
May 13, 2023
Green lost to Bryan Battle via KO (punch) at 0:14 of Round 1 at UFC on ABC 4 on Saturday in Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Green made a conscious decision to try and push the pace on Battle (who missed weight by two pounds on Friday morning), pushing forward seconds after the opening bell rang and firing off a wild combination of strikes. It was going fine until Green got crushed with a right hand which knocked him out cold before he hit the mat. Having just turned 30 years of age and now sporting a 2-3 record in his first five UFC bouts, this was the type of setback the California native simply could not afford. Green will likely be fighting for his job his next time out.

Green will still take on Brayan Battle in a catchweight bout at UFC Charlotte on Saturday despite the latter missing weight by two pounds, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Green, an approximate (-135) betting favorite for the matchup, will presumably earn a portion of Battle's fight purse as compensation for the miss, but the preliminary bout will proceed as scheduled. UFC Charlotte will move forward with 11 total fights.

March 29, 2023
Green agreed to face Bryan Battle at UFC's May 13 event, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Battle will step in for Jake Matthews, who dropped out due to an unspecified injury. Green's last time in the Octagon was July, and he lost via unanimous decision to Ian Garry. Battle is coming off an ugly loss to Rinat Fakhretdinov, which ended a run of three straight victories to open his UFC career.

Green's bout versus Jake Matthews in May has been called off after Matthews picked up an apparent injury that will not allow him to fight, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Green was looking to bounce back from a defeat last July and will now have to stand by until the UFC can organize him a new fight. There has been no announcement made as of now regarding whether the UFC will try to reschedule the bout or try to find Green a new opponent for another date.

Green will take on Jake Matthews at the UFC event on May 13, Team Iridium Sports Agency reports.
ANALYSIS
Green is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Ian Garry last July. That pushed his record to .500 in four career fights with the UFC. He will take on a fighter in Matthews who is 2-2 over his last four as well.
