Vieira will compete against Macy Chiasson in a bantamweight fight during the UFC's first card of 2024 on Jan. 13, according to Guilherme Cruz of
Vieira was on the UFC's first card in 2023 and will do the same in 2024. In 2023, she suffered a split-decision loss to Raquel Pennington but redeemed herself by easily handling Pannie Kianzad.
Easily handles Pannie Kianzad
July 22, 2023
Vieira defeated Pannie Kianzad via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in London.
This was a lopsided fight that was nowhere near as close as the scorecards would lead you to believe. Vieira went to the takedown repeatedly, landing all three of her attempts (one in each round) for a whopping 10:49 worth of control time. Ketlen easily kept Kianzad pinned to the mat the majority of the first two rounds before Pannie was able to reverse position and make some minor headway in Round 3. It didn't matter, as the result was already locked up. Vieira needed a rebound performance following her controversial split decision loss to Raquel Pennington this past January, and she got it.
Set to fight in London
May 9, 2023
Vieira will face Pannie Kianzad in a bantamweight bout at UFC London on July 22, Guilherme Cruz of reports.
After back-to-back victories over titleholders (Holly Holm and Miesha Tate), Vieira suffered a disappointing loss to Raquel Pennington. Vieira will look to bounce back against Kianzad, who's won five of her past six UFC fights.
Gets no help from judges in loss
January 14, 2023
Vieira lost to Raquel Pennington via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Vieira got help from the judges in her most recent bout, a split decision win over Holly Holm last May. She wasn't as fortunate here. That said, Ketlen was more deserving of this fight than that one. Neither woman managed to gain much traction throughout the course of the bout. Vieira looked good early on before allowing Pennington to regain the momentum in Round 2. With the fight seemingly up for grabs in Round 3, both women did damage. Two of the three judges gave Vieira the final frame. The difference ended up being referee Mike Bell somehow scoring Round 1 for Pennington. Ketlen remains a fringe top-five fighter because of the lack of depth in the division in which she competes, but her 3-3 mark dating back to December 2019 is far from inspiring.
On first UFC card of 2023
October 13, 2022
Vieira will take on Raquel Pennington at the UFC event on Jan. 14, Guilherme Cruz of reports.
Vieira was able to get by Holly Holm by split decision the last time she was in the Octagon on May 21. That came after she beat another former UFC champ in Miesha Tate in November of 2021. Pennington has won her last four bouts with the most recent coming against Aspen Ladd in April.
