Not competitive in Nashville opener
Osbourne lost to Asu Almabaev via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:11 of Round 2 at UFC on ESPN 50 on Saturday in Nashville.
ANALYSIS
It was thoroughly underwhelming performance from Osbourne from start to finish. He had zero answers for the grappling game of the debuting Almabaev, which is a major issue considering he's shown nothing on the mat for the duration of his UFC run. A member of the roster for about 3.5 years now, Osbourne is the very definition of roster depth, sporting an 4-4 record in his first eight fights with the company. There's very little upside here.

Barely gets past Charles Johnson
Osbourne defeated Charles Johnson via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Osbourne fights are rarely pretty, but he has somehow found a way to emerge victorious in his fair share of them, particularly of late. As expected, Ode struggled with the striking creativity and athleticism of Johnson at times, but with the fight tied at a round a piece, he was able to land a pair of Round 3 takedown attempts, good for 1:47 worth of control time. It ended up being enough to sway two-thirds of the judges, which is all you need. Ode has quietly won three of his last four dating back to November 2021.
