Brady defeated Gilbert Burns via unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 49-46) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Burns is an aging opponent and lightyears from his prime, but this was an impressive bell-to-bell effort from Brady in all aspects of the fight. The numbers were startling. Sean finished with a 274-76 edge in terms of total strikes landed. He also connected on seven takedown attempts, good for 10:34 worth of control time. The offensive thrusts Burns had were few and far between. Brady was always there to immediately regain the momentum. Sean has always been a good wrestler, and his stand-up skills, while not elite, have become serviceable. It's an intriguing overall package. The 31-year-old Philadelphia native is now 7-1 in the UFC, with the lone setback coming against current UFC Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad back in October 2022.

Brady (undisclosed) is scheduled to compete against Gilbert Burns in a five-round welterweight fight at the UFC's Sept. 7 event, per Mike Bohn and Farah Hannoun of MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
For the first time, Brady will participate in a five-round UFC fight. He takes on No. 6 Burns, who has fought Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight Championship once before. Brady will have momentum favoring him compared to his opponent, fighting off back-to-back losses against top contenders Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. The 31-year-old American's last win was via kimura to Kelvin Gastelum in December.
Not fighting Luque

January 31, 2024
Brady (undisclosed) is not fighting Vicente Luque at UFC Atlantic City, according to MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Despite the fact that UFC CEO Dana White announced a fight between Brady and Luque, they never signed a bout agreement, as the former was dealing with an undisclosed injury that is still affecting him. With how severe it sounds, there stands at least a decent chance that he will not be able to compete until the second half of 2024.
Set to fight Luque

January 12, 2024
Brady is scheduled to face Vicente Luque in a welterweight matchup at the UFC's March 30 event in Atlantic City, UFC president Dana White announced Friday via social media.
ANALYSIS
Brady is coming off an impressive win against Kelvin Gastelum in December last year, but that was his lone fight in 2023 since his two previous bouts were canceled. When counting only the fights that did happen, Brady has gone 4-1 over his last five events.
Dominates Kelvin Gastelum
WelterweightUFC
December 2, 2023
Brady defeated Kelvin Gastelum via submission (kimura) at 1:43 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
This was a rout from start to finish in a fight which went off as roughly a pick 'em. Recognizing Gastelum -- who was returning to welterweight for the first time since July 2016 -- couldn't handle his wrestling game, Brady fired off five takedown attempts, landing all of them. Kelvin had zero chance of winning a position on the mat, as Sean had the answer whenever he tried to escape. It was a resounding rebound effort from Brady on the heels of his knockout loss to Belal Muhammad in October 2022. It's always a concern in regards to how Brady will generate offense when his takedowns aren't landing, but he's a legitimate elite grappler. Don't give up on the 31-year-old Philadelphia native just yet. He'll also take home a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here, which was awarded to each of the evening's finishers.

Brady (undisclosed) will fight Kelvin Gastelum (undisclosed) on Dec. 2, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Brady backed out of a July 8 fight against Jack Della Maddalena due to undisclosed reasons, but it looks like he'll be good to go in December. Gastelum also missed his last scheduled fight, Sept. 16 against Shavkat Rakhmonov, due to an undisclosed injury.
